Overview: If you're here for the end game, expect to buy resources with real money or grind A LOT to unlock like 1 boss.

Graphics: Very Good
Class Gameplay: Good, Very good at end game.

Leveling: Standard MMO Garbage
Story: Kinda cool until Armen leaves. Hard to give a crap after that.

Side Content: Lots of quarky islands with silly stories. Gameplay=Spam 'G'. Collecting ♥♥♥♥ with low drop chances sucks badly.

Early End Game (Pre-Tier3): Dungeon / Guardian Raid variety is good. Fighting stuff at proper gear level is enjoyably challenging but, expect to get carried randomly.

End Game (Mid-Tier3): Low-upgrade-chances feel like ♥♥♥♥. Weeks of daily grinding to unlock 1 boss. Do that stuff over and over.

THE GOOD
Bosses are cool. Enemies are cool. Art style is cool. Music is great. Characters are unique & fun.

THE BAD
Half your time is spent running around (looking for chests).

Multiplayer is actively discouraged. It promotes splitting up to explore the whole level. There really isn't any team abilities or teamwork when you are together. Then when the weaker player eventually dies, they get no items while the living player snowballs twice as hard. Eventually, the person who died is spending most of their time afk (lying on the ground dead).

Git Gud? Good luck with that when deaths are usually a confusing particle storms of instant death.

Items barely affect your decision making at all. Your thought process on a run is basically the same every time making them very samey.

Apparently, random deaths are an intended feature.
by "random deaths" I mean, insta-kill, no-warning projectiles that level 1 bosses shoot.

Also, sometimes your character just sucks because RNG with item drops.

I really wanted to love the game but, the more I played it, the worse it got.

The PROs.
It looks nice at the start.
The pirates are a ball of fun.
Ship building is cool.

The CONs
It's unplayable.

• IT'S BROKEN. Literally, the game is impossible to finish. Performance degrades SIGNIFICANTLY as your ship/crew gets big. I get 120 fps early game and 13 late game.
  
• The UI is garbage. It's ugly and difficult to use. example: You get tons of crap items to sell but, resets the UI scroll everytime you sell 1.
  
• Functionality keeps getting PATCHED OUT. This makes 1/2 of the Tutorial and wiki incorrect.
  
• Really poor itemization and balancing.

I could write a Game Design Thesis on why this game is great but, I'll just say this game is the best thing since buttered toast.

The stark and bleak robot world somehow strikes an emotional cord and puts forth an incredible expirience for an awesome price. Difficult but clever and rewarding. I have a new respect for point and click adventures.
