i agree with a lot of people that the free tier of this game should be advertised more like a demo, especially now that they removed access to most campaign maps, but i think most people are misinformed and biased against this game because ubisoft has their name on it. this game is made and primarily managed by nadeo, which is a studio that ubisoft owns. that being said, it's still a small studio that has quite a lot of autonomy. i obviously can't know much about nadeo's finances, but i'm willing to bet this game eats up a lot of income, along with paying employees, so that's a lot of strain for a studio like nadeo. even though i don't agree with their decision to remove standard access and to limit starter access, it's understandable they did it. if you don't want to deal with this bs, just play trackmania nations forever or trackmania 2 stadium. nonetheless, it's a fantastic game
