Not my cup of tea...

My favorite part of playing an MMO is being able to build something or reach a certain goal with friends. I don't feel like I can really do that in this game. Even though it's an MMO, it feels more like a single player experience with other adventurers passing you by in between missions like ships in the night. I never feel like I can be a part of something greater.

Crafting is basically nonexistent. While you can go out and get materials, you must give the materials to a trader to then craft the items. Also, you can't just make any item you want anywhere. You have to go to a specific town to that specific trader to craft said item. Just not worth it and doesn't feel as rewarding as crafting in FFXIV. You also have to pay gold for this service which is a load of BS.

Combat is boring and repetitive. It's Diablo-esque where you have the same few skills that you fight with over and over and doesn't feel like you're doing anything meaningful. Just rinse and repeat and wait for items to drop. At least in Diablo, as you adjusted your skills the animations and the way they worked changed as you leveled them up. This is just the same basic animations over and over regardless of what you change.

Item drops are also way too low. If you play WoW, RS or FFXIV, you know that if you kill a chicken, 1 or more items will drop like feathers, meat, or something random depending on the game. In this, I can kill 100 chickens and get nothing except for XP. I would have liked to have gotten materials from monsters I kill that I could use elsewhere.

While the character creation is beautiful and some of the outfits you can get look cool, I'd much rather pay to play FFXIV and get the experience I'm looking for instead of wasting time on an F2P game that's missing the mark (to me at least).

I'll wait for Diablo 4 or play FFXIV for now.

Great game for people who like to adventure and build bases with friends. There's something for everyone which is fantastic. My only concern is longevity of the game since the dev team is only five guys and there's no way updates can be pushed out fast enough to keep up with the demand. If they hired more guys/outsourced and pushed out additional content quick as DLC, they'd make more money and be able to keep the hype going before the fire dies out.
