Jotun is just below the point where I would consider giving it a positive review. The art direction sells the game and makes it much less boring when the turns into a walking simulator. The handrawn art looks like it comes out of a storybook and mostly reminds me of the Banner Saga. This style works. Each level is highly impressionistic and made me feel a different emotion through the environment. But if you strip that away, Jotun is a pretty poor game when it comes to gameplay Most of the game is walking slowly through levels with varying degrees of linearity and gameplay. In some, you fight through swarms of mostly the same enemies or solve puzzles and in others you simply trek through an environment while the game might have one obstacle that rarely pops up and tries to damage you. Since movement is so slow, I didn't bother to thoroughly explore the levels and get more powerups that would have helped me beat the game more quickly. It's that tedious. The combat system is also slow and deliberate. It is only ever interesting in the boss fights against the Jotun (a few of which took me a while to beat). This is where the game is at its best, but it is still just so slow and uninteresting from moment to moment. It would be better if the heavy attack didn't last so long and the bosses kept you on your toes more often (Hagalaz, the boss in the trailer, does this very well). Instead, the Jotun are structured so that they are very easy to fight up until they become very difficult at the end. It takes a long time to whittle down their health to even reach that point, and long starting animations makes it even more of a drag. Get this game if you love the concept so much that you are willing to deal with its issues.

If you see this review, I suggest you buy the full Slime-san game. This is a free update for the original game, but I still bought because I want to try the game on Steam instead of only on Switch. I have no regrets. It's a good add-on that's only a bit buggy or annoying to control in some places. The game's levels shine in terms of good design and being fun to speedrun.

It took me a long time, but this game was good enough to make me 100% it.
The platforming is super tight. Like N++, this game excels in how it uses its mechanics rather than by having too many. It's very tricky, but levels are short enough to where you never get stuck too long. If you're bored and looking for a new challenge, SwordBounce is probably the game for you.

I finally tried BioShock on the summer sale, and it's aged impressively over almost 11 years. It's worth a try no matter what preferences you have for game genres. I found it to satisfy a dungeon crawling itch with its open levels and aesthetics, while others might enjoy it for the story tidbits and variety of weapons and powers.

Pros:
- The atmosphere is consistent in tone but varies enough between areas for distinction and excitement in seeing what the next area will look like. The city's current state and setting matches what the story wants you to believe.
- The sound design is another excellent aspect of BioShock. While there are too many repeated voice lines, there is attention put into how sound pours into rooms and changes with distance. This makes stealth, especially crouching around Big Daddies, much more interesting.
- While relatively simple, the story is transferred excellently. It can actually feel disgusting to see how Adam is marketed and the city trying to cover up its mistakes.
- No two weapons or ammo types in your arsenal feel alike at all. The arsenal consists of every distinquished FPS weapon you'd expect and nothing more.
- The game is short enough that upgrades you choose feel meaningful in their impact on the combat.

Cons:
- The death system is a bit too inconsequential. Sure, I was interested in minimizing the time I'd have to spend walking back and being bored as a consequence, but you don't lose any money and you can cheese the game's most threatening enemies. This was especially bad for me because I played on the highest difficulty the whole time. For a game focused on light horror, it takes away some of the tension. The panic when the alarm goes off as you're far from a vita chamber is still there, but Infinite's death system would be better in this game. Losing money that can be accumulated for permanent upgrades feels like a consequence without breaking up the pacing.
- Even when the game tries to shake things up, the gameplay's fun wears off noticably.
- The hacking minigame is a bit lame. It starts off too easy but ends up much better.
- One crash
- The healing wrench meta is OP.

While it's definitely not the best Supergiant game (*cough cough* Transistor *cough cough*), Pyre is definitely worth a try. It's particularly reading-heavy and choice oriented, so if you're not so much interested in the story, I'd ABSOLUTELY back away. About half of it plays as a VN (and, refreshingly, its not weeaboo garbage). The RPG systems are great, but the gameplay itself is just okay and feels like a sidenote. Telling about the game's pacing almost feels like spoiling the whole game. I'll just say I'd recommend playing on the highest difficulty and never restarting a single match to best engage with the story.

Pros:
- For a visual novel, most of the characters have a surprising amount of depth and can't be summed up in a single adjective.
- The art and music are clearly stellar, though not quite as good as in Bastion/Transistor imo.
- The worldbuilding is excellent. There's a story with a fair amount of nuance but all of it is understandable if you pay a little attention.
- The varying paths your choices might lead you on seem to be well planned. The story never seemed to take a hit but instead be cleverly planned around this. Speaking of choices, during the "liberation rites" where you free a hero, you sometimes come to the interesting choice between freeing a character you truly want to for the story and freeing one who feels less useful in terms of gameplay. Personally, I really like how my game ended except for that I was not able to free Darben, Oralech, or Reader.
- Even though they probably had little effect on actual match results, I enjoyed trying to gain the upper hand as much as possible with the RPG mechanics.
- While the really involved gameplay isn't this game's strong suit, I do like that each character has distinction in movement. Some jump far, but totally waste their stamina in doing so. Others move in short bursts characteristic of their own personalities. Even if uninteresting in other ways, this does make the ritual more interesting. The enemy AI uses varied tactics to mess with your game, too.

Cons:
- Some of the game's mechanics went almost unused. Throwing seemed to never be worth the effort and I only remembered to and found it convenient to press T once. Like other Supergiant games, this one introduces difficulty modifiers, but the risk is a little too much for the miniscule exp. reward. Once, though, it was used to really good effect.
- The matches themselves are pretty short, so active gameplay is actually really minimal (and becomes more so once you can manage to have a character deal 40 pyre damage).
- With my computer, there was some input delay.
- Seriously, some people would hate this game. If you're not interested in story or reading, you should back away from it.

Bleed 2 is an easily recommendable game IF you're going to replay it for higher scores or its other modes after beating it. Otherwise, it will just be a short romp.

Pros:
- No annoying upgrade system like in the first Bleed! Any extra characters, weapons, and abilities are about as good as the main characters.
- The scoring system gives incentive to replay levels. Replayability as a whole is great because there is always something to improve on and fun things happening from moment-to-moment.
- There are 4 difficulties (of which it is best to play on Very Hard the first time through to get a certain weapon)
- There are also a few other gamemodes.
- Bosses are varied from one another. Though they have their own set of attacks, they use them randomly enough to where you have to think on your feet. You can also cheese a few of them if you know how to do it (and it's oddly satisfying).
- Shooting up tons of enemies with no rest break in between, katana-parrying bullets, and some slow-mo simply feels great.
- It's easy to tell what's going on onscreen because of good color contrast, clear backgrounds, and (mostly) well telegraphed atacks.
- Checkpoints before bosses and platforming segments make it easy to practice a boss before running through a whole level.

Cons:
- Someone who just wants to finish the game will be disappointed by its "length".
- The art is serviceable, but not amazing.
- There's no real challenge in anything besides the bosses (which take up most of the playtime, anyway).

This is a short stealth game that squeezes out perfect gameplay in its 20 minutes. It must have taken months upon months to reach this much perfection, even if just for a short experience.

Pros:
- The tiger was a perfect addition to the stealth formula. It felt like a genuine threat to keep you on your toes, rather than a mindless addition.
- There is so much depth in the ways you can take out the guards. I like throwing a rock from the pond at them, but you can also hit them when thunder strikes, find out how to use the tiger against them, sneak next to them in a cardboard box, or even simply using brute force against them (while risking being seen by the tiger). In the laser section, I could use baby powder to sneak past, simply avoid touching the lasers, or use a drone assembled from three guards' keys and a computer chip to disable the generator beforehand. At any given moment, I felt like I had tons of options.
- The OST is a whole three hours long! It adapts to your situation. For example, when I was chased by the tiger, it turned into a quick, nervous tune. However, when the tiger was unaware of me, but the sentry camera was looking in my general direction while I was under cover, the music changed to a low-key spy tune.
- There are 58 different difficulty settings, each one giving an extremely different overall experience.
- Can we just talk about the tiger again? Man, it was just so cool when I found out I could ride it. It looks even more lifelike than usual while playing in VR!

Cons:
- None. This is perfection through and through.

This game is good, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it over something like SEUM. If you're going to play it for collectables and to speedrun it, you'll get a lot out of it, and I would highly recommend it. If not, you'll be playing a fairly short but pretty well designed platformer.

Pros:
- This game realize its potential as a mechanically sound first person platformer.
- The gravity-switching mechanic feels really fun in 3D levels.
- There are a bunch of speedrun levels that I still have not tried.
- The skybox looks quite stunning.
- The game has surprisingly interesting exploration options for what it is.
- There aren't too many game mechanics, but they are used near their full potential.

Cons:
- The game bugged out, and I had to restart the level (though I was near the beginning of it) to continue. The same bug was posted on the forums two years ago, and I suppose nobody did anything about it.
- Even though the gun is a hitscan weapon, it looks like it launches this projectile beam and it gets really confusing. As a whole, it doesn't feel satisfying to use, either.
- Because you can't see your feet, some of the gravity-switched sections become more confusing than they should be. Your hitbox as a whole is really confusing because you have no reference point.
- In the fifth level, there's an enemy that is introduced that can practically one hit kill you almost instantly, and it feels random when you don't know how to deal with it.
- There are a few places that are just plain confusing and easy to get stuck at for a little too long.
- Story? What story?
- If you're not going to try speedrunning this game, it's really short, so a lot of your time will be spent dwelling on some annoying things.

This game is really good. You'll only get as much out of it as you put into it. If you want to collect secret collectibles, go ahead. If you want to just beat the game without worrying much about time, you can. You can also try to lower your time as much as possible in every level and get high on the leaderboards. There is a good variety of mechanics, while the game also does not feel bloated with them. It's not a masterpiece, but it's definitely worth it if you're part of the right niche.
