Very enjoyable as a Lovecraft fan, but i'm unsure how the game would hold up with someone who is not. As such, I would advise a small amount of research into Lovecraft's cosmic style and maybe even giving the short story a read (or listen). Even though I was familiar with the story I was left in great unease at several portions of the game, the visions and eerie chants that surround the runes were especially disconcerting. The visual style of the game is one I enjoy and adds to the mystery and grittiness of the environments. You really are capable of feeling the sand underfoot and thrown up by the wind into your eyes. The games use of scale, namely using large objects to make the player feel small, was clever and foreboding. The rune casting system was great fun, chanting away in an ancient language felt novel and very in-line with the imagery in the game, adding some light puzzle game play as to not cement the game as a walking sim. I must not forget the sound design, an excellent job, really bravo. The rising and falling of the music at just the right times influenced and enhanced my experience, especially the silence that dominated when reaching the water filled expanse. I must also compliment the design of the sanity meter, unique and very fitting. The voice acting was fine, and really shined during the ending, which in itself made great use of scale as if to dominate over the protagonist. The main feelings felt throughout the experience were those of uncertainty, dread, and a sense of being just a tiny piece of a greater cosmic mystery. Thus, are Indeed correct to the emotions one should feel during a Lovecraft story, very well done guys :)

P.S Thanks to The Librarian for showing this game off to me
