I played the game for a couple of hours doing the campaign mode. I can tell you it seems to be a good concept for a game, but it lacks in a lot of things. I have only played one other game in this series, even though I own most of them. It was a very long time ago that I played it, so I don't remember anything from it. The campaign mode is where you should learn to play the game, at least in the early stages. It has very little in the learning department. It briefly tells you something and then it disappears. It might show up later if you haven't accomplished what you are given a task for (like fly to a certain location). I had no clue about the "highways" and what was expected of you. I fly to the location and then get pulled into it and it starts flying me. I thought it was like in an auto pilot mode, but then I get bumped out of the highway thinking that I've "arrived" to my location. Then, when I finally get to the Badlands colony, I have no clue how I'm supposed to dock with the specific location. I was eventually able to find a YouTube video on how to dock with a location. The controls, especially land based, are very clunky. It constantly keeps telling me to hit Space to get out of mouse flight. Why? When flying in the highways, it is very hard to discern where the edges of it are, so I constantly flew out of the highway and was thrown like a kilometer from it. The video tutorials they made are way too basic and since I'm just starting the game, I had no clue what most of them was even talking about, so, I ended up not watching several of them. I got into a couple of the pre-programmed fights, not knowing if the bullets are flying to the cursor or to the reticle on the HUD. Then, when I get the missiles in the second fight, I didn't know I had to click on the enemy to target it for the missiles, as the NPC co-pilot just says they lock onto the target and follow it (or something like that), so, I was expecting them to auto lock after being fired. It is also hard to tell the enemy from other ships, especially that second fight, as there were many ships flying around me and I wasn't sure who was friend or foe. It also has way too many key options for simple things, especially since mouse control allows for movement of the ship. Not even sure why you would want to turn that off. There should be some kind of arrow pointing to your next location (a yellow arrow) and then for enemy targets (red arrow) to show which direction to fly towards. There is a lot more I'm probably forgetting to list here, but don't think I have a lot of space to write it all down.

I'm not really sure if this is a bug or not, as it seems to happen every so often. The last game I played, which was the first in the Classic mode, I put out my first card, boosted it by the card on the field and then boosted it by my special ability twice. I got it up to 20. Ended my turn. AI played and came back to me. I decided to Pass that turn. AI took it's turn and then it automatically passed me again. AI took turn. It then passed my turn again. I have not hit the button since that first time, but the computer continues to pass my turn automatically until the computer passed my score and then it passed and it won. From my accounting of the tutorial, I thought that when I pressed the pass button, that it passed my turn for one turn and then I had an option to play the next turn or pass again, which I would have to interact with the pass button. But, it did not happen like that and this wasn't the first time it happened. It also happened during another match, which I also lost at, one during the tutorial.

Other than that "bug" the game is ok. I would have thought that since there is a ranged and melee rows and that the cards have a point value, that you would be doing attacks and defense each turn, kind of like many other card games, one of which is Magic. I've never really seen a game before that doesn't constantly have an attack phase each round (not counting when the card activates an ability that lets you attack.

Early Access Review
This game is way over the top. I don't want to have to deal with my own real life and then jump into this game and have to deal with all the real life expectations to keep your character alive that doesn't have to deal with combat. Remove the need for food and water (make them give you a boost of some kind). Remove all the status effects like dehydrated, too hot, too cold and other similar status effects that isn't received from combat. Then, re-look at combat, especially with animals of low level, like 1-5. It should only take a couple of swings to kill lowest levels with even a beginning hatchet, instead of like 100.

It is a fun game. You have a lot of content that is PvE and just some regular PvP options that you could bypass if you wanted too, but, it does give you quests for PvPing and from what I've been told, can get you some good gear.
