I want to love this game I really do. There is some really good stuff to be found here. The art direction, sound design, and music are all amazing. Unfortunately this is a video game and not a Tv show because actually playing the game feels more like a chore the further it goes. the first half of the game is fine, but once you get to the harder segments with much more enemies and bosses thrown in with them? It very quickly stops being fun. It doesn't help all the real content is front loaded into that first half and the rest of the game is just similar looking buildings with all the same enemies you've already fought.

Design choices like the weapon str system feel more like references put in because it's in the tabletop. In practice it almost forces you to use weapons against certain enemies otherwise you're screwed once the tougher ones come. The chain sword is more useful as a movement tool to zip to an enemy than as an actual weapon and since there's no reward for killing an enemy with it and you are open to being damaged you more often than not just put yourself in more danger whenever you use it. The charge ability is also basically useless. maybe there's some interesting speed running tech that will be discovered due to the jankiness of the charge but for the average player it is a gimmick through and through.
It feels like the designers looked at doom and doom eternal and just picked what they thought would be cool to have instead of asking WHY those games have those mechanics.

Enemies like the aspiring champion and greater plague toad are some of the most annoying and un-fun enemies in a video game I have ever played and for some reason they decided to put them what feels like around every corner in tight hallways with little room to dodge.

The maps are also very confusing, they added a navigation (bound to N by default) alongside the DLC which does help, but I find it rather frustrating that they added dialogue to the servo-skull that makes it feel like the devs are mocking you for getting lost. The enemy sprite also start to look really bad when you fight them for long periods of time, again, another design choice that feels like it's here just because doom has it.

If you are a big Warhammer fan you will still probably enjoy most of it, but if you aren't then this isn't worth your time or money.

i wrote this a long time ago but god ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dammit is it still true

Let me prefes this by saying that I love silent story telling, ok so yes this is short and yes there are better things you can do, but the game's free. If you want to do somthing els then go do it.
without spoiling anything let me just say that if you have an active imagination then this is the game for you
