I play the demo on Steam Deck and bought this on release . It is playable to some degree. Cutscenes or the eikons fight can be very stuttering and just make you feel not worth playing it. However , there is some improvement on release but not saying it is a HUGE improvement. It is still playable but yes, it will not be a satisfying experience.

However, using the DLSS MOD which is just ( FSR 3.1 ) give huge improvement on gameplay. Cutscenes will just stay as it is. I give up on that one. There is almost no input latency so nothing should be worry about. Able to do precision dodge almost all the time with the MOD and Frame Generation ON.

Is this a game worth to get? Maybe. I would actually wait for sell if i were to be you. Especially if you are Steam Deck user. They probably will consider giving more support and upgrade for handheld user. But if you consider to play this now, get the DLSS MOD ON and it will help you to at least play this with better experience.

Steam Deck LCD Review

So, after extensive research on trying to play this game without too much an issue. Playing it with so called DLSS MOD is VERY RECOMMENDED. Seeing many people saying about how this will struggle in Chapter 2 on forth especially on tiger vanguard and other bosses. I would say, this game can run perfectly by using the mod I mention above.

Chapter 1 Preview
Starting from the prologue, i have a bit of problem with the graphics but that all changed after the Prologue. Graphics from Steam Deck is as people know is ALL Set to LOW. However, i set Texture to HIGH because i still can run it great without impacting the performance by a lot. Take in mind, i am using the DLSS MOD. Therefore the Frame Generation is on. In my Steam Settings also i enable Allow Tearing, and Manual GPU Clock set to 1600 MHz with Scaling Filter FSR set to 3 Sharpness. I experiment a lot with this and doing as above, i actually got very good looking graphics with acceptable performance, getting almost 60 fps stable except sometime it might drop to 55-59 or lower depend on the location. However my play in Chapter 1 is almost perfect and i like it very much.

Starting from Chapter 2 Above, I set Texture back to low, because there is pixelated environment and stuttering keep happening. However, i manage to run it stable in 60 fps so it worth the sacrifice. There is still stuttering sometime but i guess this is because loading the environment and so on. My fight with all the bosses does not affect anything much. No lagging input like people mention which is weird. Probably just me, but i am glad everything went smooth .

To put it simply, running DLSS MOD imo is just important if you want to try play in Steam Deck. Take note i also run CryoUtilities and also Wukong with Latest Proton GE-11. This is also been done in Steam Deck LCD. So i dont see how OLED cant run better than this unless you do something wrong. I hope there is optimization been done to make it much better and no need of DLSS MOD.

My Steam Deck Settings:

Frame Limit 60 FPS
Allow Tearing
Manual GPU Clock 1600MHz
Scaling Filter FSR ( Sharpness 3)
Game Resolution ( Set in Properties ) = 1280x720 If you use DLSS MOD , Perhaps using lower can improve the performance ( Need testing) [ This is because there is bug using the mod that affect the graphics which i am unsure ]

IN-Game Settings
Prefer All Low, OFF everything OFF like V-Sync and Motion Blur for Smooth gameplay. Can make Exception for Texture to set to HIGH depend if you can run it much better or want to sacrfice some performance. Prefer to set to low in Chapter 2 above because just how big the environment is.

From my gameplay and research , WUKONG IS ONE OF A MUST HAVE for HandHeld Console . Of course there is many room for improvement which i hope the dev consider to do so for Steam Deck. I have not being sleeping playing this game for a day and looking for the best way to experience on Steam Deck. For those who have problem with this game being unplayable, try to get the DLSS MOD like i mention and try to do more research just like what i did. You wont regret it !!

This game has been on my watch for a long time since I saw a lot of it gameplay, playing it on the hardest difficulty change a lot on how the players should able to manage to dodge or deflect. I am afraid that my joystick might be broken because of this game. Definitely recommended as one of the game to be played on handheld console.

Have been playing Sims games since long time ago and it is one of my favourite, however I do prefer Sims 3 compare to this. It runs perfect on Steam Deck , I am using proton ge-11 and 60 fps is possible, modding a lot could impact the performance. There are many good mods out there.

However, does not change the fact from how many Expansion and Bundle that is separate from the game. Not having these bundle can affect how fun the game actually is. The price is not worth it without discount. Wait until there is big discount and buy if you want. Origin and Steam is connected, no need to buy on steam if you already do on Origin.

SteamDeck Rating 10/10 !! One of the perfect game to play while on the bed or outside!!

So far in the gameplay, i like the story and every character interaction. Aizen and Rokurou are both gigachad . Magilou is quite funny with her banter . Meanwhile Velvet And Laphicet is having that sibling aura. The combat system is kinda complex especially if you want to switching between characters. Normally it is fine if you play on normal/moderate difficulty. Hard difficulty will really wreck players when they are not ready .

My only complain would be about the direction of the quest. Most of the time, you really need to focus on the story to know where you should be going. It does not give you direction or help you on where you supposed to go. You need to explore the map and see whether there is a trigger for the quest to start.

Run perfectly on Steam Deck and probably one of the best game this year. Worth the buy 10/10.

Bought it right away for my steamdeck. It work well right out of the box. Standard is the default settings and RECOMMENDED for now. It run stable at 30fps for me. I tried 60 fps but it not stable and fluctuate between 40-55 fps. If you want to play higher than 30FPS, change the Max FPS in game to 60. After that set frame limit to 40 in the Steam Quick Access Menu ( depend if you want or not). Moreover, the only time i see performance drop is while being at the area of Village/Town. The scenes happening there also may cause a bit of performance drop. The minimum i ever get is 27 FPS. There is no significant drop while in-battle,other area outside village,multiplayer. Those work without an issue and pretty stable for me.

Edit 1: After few configurations, i find out Proton Experimental give a little bit of boost to fps but not necessarily needed. You may stick to default if it work fine for you. I also use cryoutilities recommended settings and set UMA Buffer to 4 in Steamdeck BIOS. It does make the performance bit better than default. Do this at your own risk and if you know what you doing. If no, just stick to default setting as long it work fine on 30 FPS. Changing in-game setting from Standard to Higher will impact the performance, so just stick to Standard. Additional notes, doing these not even make the area around Village/Town stable at 30FPS. It still can go below 30FPS. The area is not properly optimised. Also, turn vsync off in game settings.

Combat:
The combat is surprisingly smooth and really make me giggle. Pretty impressive gameplay and the AI is smart by default on using skills especially support skill (heal). Not only that, you can customize the skill for the character as you level up the mastery. Having the need to do combo and stop to dodge/guard is also very fun as the boss is pretty challenging.

Steam Deck Control Layout:
The default control on Steam Deck already good enough, but may adjust it to suit your need. As example, i set L4 for sprint as clicking the Left Stick to sprint everytime is quite annoying for me. However, there is in-game setting for auto sprint if you want.

Multiplayer :
It works well for me and there does not seem like there is a much drop when I play. It can run pretty stable without lagging. Take note, you can repeat the quest with the party if you want.

Overall, i think this is a pretty good game to pickup for Steam Deck as not only it can run by default. You dont need much tinkering to play it and just stick to default. The story is quite enjoyable for me, but the cream of the cake in this game is the gameplay. Doing the Full Burst and Link attack is pretty satisfying. However, there is still room for improvement especially around the area of village/town. If you looking to grab a game where the gameplay is very fun and good story, you can add this to your library. I may change my review depending on what i may encounter in the future of gameplay.

This VN is outrageous in lots of aspect. The graphics is soooooo mesmerizing and it captivate my mind for each scenes. The plot is also enjoyable and it is a blessing to listen to the superb voice acting. It cant be denied that this VN series worth every of your penny!

THIS IS MASTERPIECE!! EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS VN IS PERFECT! IT IS VERY ENJOYABLE AND I REALLY REALLY LIKE IT! I am srsly in love with the story and cant get enough with it!
