Te perderás en este mundo lleno de horrores lovecraftianos mezclados con antiguos mitos del viejo oeste.

Weird west como su propio nombre indica es un juego raro. Es immsim (inmersive simulator como Dishonored, Thief, Prey, Bioshock, etc.) en tercera persona con vista cenital y mecánicas de twin stick shooter, pero sigue manteniendo la libertad de decisiones, actos y mecánicas que son la esencia de este género.

La jugabilidad es muy amplia y puedes hacer cosas tan alocadas como preparar trampas a base de barriles de pólvora, saltar y noquear enemigos o simplemente tirotear toda una ciudad como verdadero Bellaco. Aun asi, pese a estas posibilidades, es algo tosco a veces y creo que se puede pulir su gameplay algo más.

Esto me lleva a lo amplio que es el “mapa” ¿por qué uso las comillas?

Porque básicamente el mapa este hecho a base de localizaciones y aunque estas estan muy bien construidas se echa de menos que no todo este interconectado. Igualmente, el mundo gracias precisamente a esto se siente vivo y la población al tener nombres propios y cambiar en cada partida jugada, le da un toque fantástico al juego.

La música dejando dos o 3 temas quizas no es tan memorable, pero a la vez es única y estoy seguro de que la reconocería sobre muchas otras bandas sonoras. Igualmente, ya os digo que esta es sublime y la gozareis tanto dentro como fuera del juego.

Si sumamos a este pack la posibilidad de tener mods directamente integrados en el juego (hay un modo primera persona), un modo imposible (honor si habéis jugado al baldurs gate 3) y una historia que encandila y te invita a explorar…

Tenemos un juego muy redondo que deja muy buen sabor de boca y que recomendaría a todos aquellos que quieran disfrutar de múltiples formas de resolver distintas quest - sean historias principales o secundarias - y sobretodo explorar un viejo oeste llevado de la mano de una narrativa con toques dignos de lovecraft.

You will get lost in this world full of Lovecraftian horrors mixed with ancient myths of the Old West.

As its name suggests, Weird West is a weird game. It's an immersive sim (like Dishonored, Thief, Prey, Bioshock, etc.) played from a third-person perspective with a top-down view and twin-stick shooter mechanics. Yet, it keeps the freedom of choices, actions, and mechanics that are the essence of this genre.

The gameplay is very expansive, and you can do crazy things like setting traps with gunpowder barrels, jumping and knocking out enemies, or simply shooting up an entire town like a true outlaw. However, despite these possibilities, it can feel a bit clunky at times, and I think the gameplay could use some fine-tuning.

This brings me to the vastness of the "map"—why the quotation marks?

Because basically, the map is made up of separate locations, and while these are very well constructed, you miss the feeling of everything being interconnected. Even so, the world feels alive, and since the population has unique names and changes with each playthrough, it adds a fantastic touch to the game.

The music, aside from two or three tracks, isn't particularly memorable, but at the same time, it's unique, and I'm sure I could recognize it over many other soundtracks. Regardless, I can tell you that is sublime, and you'll enjoy it both in and out of the game.

If we add to this package the possibility of having mods directly integrated into the game (there's a first-person mode), an impossible mode (like honor mode if you've played Baldur's Gate 3), and a captivating story that invites you to explore...

We have a very well-rounded game that leaves a great impression, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy multiple ways to solve different quests, with many interesting stories—whether main or side quests—and, above all, explore an Old West guided by a narrative with Lovecraftian touches.
