Fairly decent LEGO game with some issues. Quests can be insanely dull. If you want the 100% you will be asked like 30 times to fly around the map to either pick up items or talk to NPCs. Like... it took me almost 45 hours to 100% when most other LEGO games only take 24 hours max and most of the extra time was just doing the same stuff over and over again.

However, if you mute your game whenever Gwenpool speaks the overall game can be pretty enjoyable.

This game is massively overhated. I understand that for original fans of Borderlands waited a long time between 2 and 3 and had their standards set high by Borderlands 2, but I don't think this game deserves the hate it gets at all. The main issues people have is the writing, and whilst there are some annoying characters it's really exaggerated just how bad it is. It's not like it's got Marvel movie dialogue, if you can just get past Ava and some cringe inducing lines from Troy and Tyreen, it's really not that bad! I would even go as far as to say Troy and Tyreen are fun characters! Every time they were on screen, I felt like they were truly threatening in a way Handsome Jack couldn't even do (Jack is still better though, of course), I was always scared they'd do something to the characters that I love. And as far as story goes I think it may be the best? It might just be the most lore heavy and we learn a lot about the universe that we didn't before.

Gameplay is where the game gets it's rightful praise, it's hard to rank any Borderlands game above another because I genuinely think they're all equally fun to play, but this one is especially fun to go through and makes the grind to get 100% completion (which I did) not as gruelling as some others.

My one complaint: no on-screen Rhys and Vaughn interaction. Come on now.

Why did I actually have a lot of fun with this.

It's basically a sequel to Battle for Bikini Bottom, which I LOVED as a kid, and I think most of my enjoyment playing the Rehydrated version was due to nostalgia. But this doesn't have that, but it still managed to keep me entertained... and I'm not a child anymore. The levels are just so fun to go through and the collectibles are satisfying to. Well. Collect. There's not way too many where it's tedious, it's just fun. It's fun! It reminds me of Mario Odyssey in a way, just an extremely decent 3D platformer with fun collectibles. Mario Odyssey is only better because it has a lot more content, otherwise this game is probably one of the best family friendly 3D platformers. And hey, everyone always talks about how great Mario Odyssey is, and THAT'S also a game for children. So I feel no shame enjoying this and writing a public review for everyone to see how much I enjoyed it. I love SpongeBob.

This is an extremely underappreciated gem. I've been a HUGE fan of Fire Emblem for a few years now, I never shut up about it, so of course I was intrigued by this game due to its many similarities. I had 2 concerns going into it, was it going to pander to the elitist Fire Emblem fans that insist that the outdated maps from decades ago are actually way better than modern day games? Would it prioritise gameplay and then lack in story and characters?

Thankfully, Dark Deity delivers on all fronts. I am so immensely impressed with this game, each and every character is enjoyable in their own right and with a cast as big as its got, that can be very difficult. I'll probably do many more playthroughs to unlock every bond, because the character interactions are very entertaining and cute. And to be honest, that's what Fire Emblem is for me, supports. Social links. Bonds. Whatever you want to call them, I LIVE for them, and Dark Deity did an amazing job on it.

Gameplay is totally fine, it can be challenging at times but not so hard that it's just unfair (though I haven't played on the highest difficulty). I really enjoy the variety in classes and it makes it super fun to pick and choose which class you want for each unit.

The story is where I think Dark Deity is the weakest, but thankfully its carried by its extremely loveable cast. The story isn't BAD, its just kinda what you'd expect from a Fire Emblem-type game.

I enjoyed every minute of this game and I'm excited for the sequel. I'm not sure if they intend to bring back the same cast for the sequel or not, but I don't mind either way. I love this cast, but I have full faith they could make even more characters that are just as loveable.

BIG FAN !

Persona 5 Tactica tells the story of two new characters. Focusing on characters original to Tactica was a brave choice as many will be buying this game to see the Phantom Thieves return, but I think this risk paid off really well. Erina and Toshiro are amazingly well-written and I loved the story just as much as Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers.

I feel like this entry to the Persona 5 series has been heavily slept on. I could not recommend it enough to any fans.

The Akechi + Kasumi DLC was fantastic too.

I'm gonna constantly think about this game for at least the next few months.

EDIT 18/09/2024: GTA Online now needs BattlEye, which the Steam Deck doesn't support, which means Steam Deck players literally just can't play it anymore. This is incredibly stupid and upsetting. Changing my review to negative until there is support for Steam Deck players. Rockstar has the resources to do it (apparently its super simple), they're just being lazy.

Actual review below.

-----------------------------------------

GTA V is easily a 10/10 game.

The story mode is criminally underrated. The characters and plot are way more fun than people ever give it credit for. The dialogue between the cast feels so real, even when Franklin is literally talking to a dog. Rockstar are AMAZING at writing dialogue, a lot of exchanges are straight up hilarious and the conversations are just great to listen to. I'll purposefully drive slower in missions so I can hear the whole conversation play out before I complete it. I've played the main story about nine times now (mostly on other platforms like PlayStation) and it doesn't ever get boring. If I have nothing to do, sometimes I'll just sit down and restart the story mode because it's THAT entertaining. If Trevor doesn't return in GTA VI I'll be seriously disappointed.

Now: Online. GTA Online is certainly an experience. It's good, it's fun. But extremely frustrating and annoying too. I don't have any friends that play GTA Online, so I have to try my luck with random players to do missions. I've had many experiences with annoying players but for some reason I've had the WORST luck with the prison break heist.

I will now rant about it. Review over.

First attempt. We failed once. Guy who drives the bus got annoyed. Exploded it. Left.

Second attempt. Flawless. Absolutely flawless. Got to the end. Guy that flies the helicopter left.

Third attempt. Flawless again. Got to the end. One person died on the parachuting part. That's okay though. We still had another life left. He jumped off a cliff trying to get to us. Died. Failed. Left.

Fourth attempt. Flawless, except the demolitionist had no idea what he was supposed to do. After I flew myself and the ground team to the end, we had to wait for him to get into the helicopter after he, for some reason, drove half way through Los Santos. Once he got into the helicopter we had to wait for him to fly to us. His landing was... shaky at best. But we got in. He flew us away, I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bricks, scared he'd use the side of a mountain as a landing strip - but no. We did it. I'm never doing heists again... until the next time I'm feeling masochistic.

P.S.

Rockstar, please give us those damn cars you removed back. I miss my Vacca baby.
