Can't recommend it in its current state. Poe 1 is presently the more enjoyable game for me.

What I liked:
++Story
++Art; Berserk inspiration is even more prevalent in 2
+Boss fights; a step up from the typical act bosses in Poe 1

What I didn't like:
---Lack of build variety; significantly reduced variety of actual passive abilities on the skill tree, lack of weapon variety notwithstanding
---Lack of masteries
--Lack of scouring mechanic
--Lack of uniques actually being...unique; haven't seen every single one, but saw ~30 and they don't change how you play at all
--Lack of utility flasks
--Slower pace compared to Poe 1; I prefer the faster pace
-Crowd control being less effective than Poe 1
-Melee still being second fiddle to ranged

Poe 1 is at its core a problem solving game where the player spends a lot of time fixing the issues with their build and tuning it to perfection. The skill expression in Poe 1 is in planning; carefully designing/crafting builds and being rewarded by it trivializing combat. Skill expression in Poe 2 is entirely in execution, which it does well. Poe 2 is very different from the original formula, borrowing more heavily from other ARPGs and Dark Souls than Poe 1. If you prefer Dark Souls to Poe 1, it's for you. If the reverse case is true, stick with Poe 1.

In short, Poe 2 wasn't made for people who like Poe 1.

Trash.

A grind so slow it makes War Thunder jealous. You get enough wildcards to build about one deck. The only way to get more is to win a lot; you better make that one deck super cancerous. You like modern? Look elsewhere, it's not here. Like EDH? Nope. But you can have (no) fun with the gimped versions of those formats. WOTC sucks.

For Honor but somehow worse. Almost no replay value. Don't believe me? Try it, you'll be bored in 2 matches. Imagine For Honor but no real movesets.

play world of warships instead, be based like me

Fun for a match or two on the weekend, gets boring beyond that. Currently not as fun as COH 2 and lacks the flavor that game developed over the years. Game has the potential to be a lot better than 2, but it's a few years away from that.

Great grand strategy game.
