People will scoff at you for playing it...

But that's how you spot someone whose never played ETS2- Perhaps the most chill and fun to play simulator on the market.

Alternatively, get the TruckersMP mod and invite the stress and danger of driving IRL into the game!

Very fun.

Combines the best of Battlefield and Squad into an easy to get into and chaotic funfest.

Smoosh a well-rounded city builder such as Cities Skylines with the "FEED THE MACHINE" mentality of Factorio together and you come close to Workers & Resources - a game that seeks to answer the question of "could I make communism work?".

Learning all the mechanics is like scaling a cliff using your teeth, but a variety of customisable difficulty settings and an intuitive set of production chains does simplify things somewhat... Doesn't mean your cities are going to look any better since you're going to be like me and forget that people need water to survive, that they might need transport to get to work and that sometimes they might get ill. But learning what people might need as the omnipotent central planner is all part of the fun!

1917/10 would recommend again.

A survival game I like is a rare thing.
An early access title this early one with this much going for it is also a rare thing.

Me like.

Do you like building things?
Do you like problem solving?
Did you ever consider building things in other games to be "too easy"?

Then you'll love Stormworks! The game that lets you directly turn hours of your time into semi-functional craft that are then given the minor task of saving lives! As long as you're not too attached to notions of "Right and Wrong" or "Perfection" you and this game are made for one another.

Haven't played as much of this game as I could have... Not through any fault of its own though!

I love it, great game. Enjoyable, deeply competetive, has held up well and works and runs really well. 10/10 on that front.

But...

♥♥♥♥ Epic, I'm not playing this game or buying any more cosmetics for it as long as they continue on the path of pulling RL from Steam.. and honestly I'm morally against giving them any of my money as it stands.

I advise other PC users to boycott their anti-consumer rhetoric too, though saying that its not like they're gonna be selling many more copies of Rocket League on their Chinese Government run spyware infested husk of a store.

Needs MAJOR Fixes

Rampant Bulls**tery (talking about being sniped while behind cover, or blatantly aimbotted in the middle of rainforest levels of brush cover).

The XP bonus for "underpopulation" perhaps being VP based since population clearly means jack.

The unspeakably horrible grind that leaves new players WITHOUT GRENADES now.

The cut and paste level of maps to the point where releasing a singlular new map was seen as a bragging right in a patch.

The controls feeling like they were made to be realistic, but then they gave up halfway giving players clunky AF arcade controls that aid neither fluid arcade gameplay or more realistic shooting.

My advice for anyone thinking of picking this game up is to pay money and get a better game since this game is beyond repair and only exists to keep the people who have put money into it happy.

I'm sure there are devs who care about this game, but from a player's perspective they have been locked in a cupboard and the game has been made deliberately worse over the course of a few years.

Blatant online cashgrab at all costs, spiralling online costs to fuel microtransactions and a complete abandonment of single player to push this further... And now a war against the community that supports this game through the random and baseless decision to destroy its single player modding scene to eliminate the hackers that the overpriced and poorly maintained online aspect of the game has created.

GG Take-Two, you definitely don't want your competitors to hog all the negative press that comes from milking and abusing the community that supports them.

It's hard to see a reason to reccomend this game at the moment. I've played a lot of games that have had things that annoy me, but this is the first time i have ever gone out of my way to address them past a simple set of sentences... Mainly because those games were made by people not backed by a AAA budget, or because those games didn't cost me over £60.

-Peer to Peer connection in a fighting game which means that hosting = a far better match performance, and that connection drops frequently.

-Matchmaking so unbalanced and shallow that a £5 Indie game would be ashamed to have it, with the game being completely unable to match any of the criteria it is supposedly finding, and then completely unable to find new players if someone leaves between rounds.

-The fact that the developers seem to want to add more features before addressing any balance or gameplay concerns raised by the community that play their game. A mentality of "We'll sort it out soon" may well be fine for a single person development, but not a game with a large team working on it constantly.

-A lack of balanced game modes with only 2 (4 if you count PvE) that don't reward the players with the best gear. This means that new players are at a significant disadvantage when playing 4v4 game modes currently, putting people such as myself in the situation of: do i play with my friends, or actually enjoy the game. Coupled to the awful matchmaking it is not uncommon (i can provide about as many instances as you need) to see teams of high prestige characters with level 100+ gear fighting people who have little if any.

This is why i'd not reccomend this game as of present. Because at present this game has all the telltale signs of a game that will die out very soon if nothing is done except try and get more money from its players.

I want this game to be good, it brings a lot of good ideas out and clearly has a lot of people working on it who care about what they are making, but their efforts are really in vain so long as the people calling the shots are doing their absolute best to ignore the playerbase and get as much money as they can from the game rather than make it an enjoyable experience.
