Subject: Preliminary Observations of Pathogen Strain VX-7 “Nyx Strain” – Early Stages of Containment Failure Risk

Date: ██/██/2018
Location: Sector 7B, Facility Frederick, Maryland

Overview :

Initial containment protocols for the unknown strain designated as VX-7 “Nyx Strain” have proven insufficient. The agent was extracted from a sealed cryo-sample unearthed beneath the Novosibirsk Vector Institute, following a collapse in a long-abandoned sublevel dated pre-1991.

Current genomic analysis confirms retroviral properties with synthetic mutations , not found in any known database. Strain VX-7 displays a unique affinity to human neural tissue, causing accelerated neurodegenerative responses within 72 hours of exposure.

Symptoms Onset (Observed in Test Subjects 002, 004, 007):

Phase I: Hallucinations, photophobia, aggressive behavior

Phase II: Motor decay, elevated body temp (≥ 42°C), vocal cord strain

Phase III: Full systemic collapse within 96 hours

Mortality Rate: 98.7%

Transmission Vector: Under investigation – suspected aerosolized compounds in high-humidity environments.

Notes from Lead Researcher Dr. Tessa Varga (formerly WHO Geneva): :

"This isn’t organic… it’s constructed. Whoever made this knew exactly what they were doing. The genome has fail-safes… layers of obfuscation. It’s like it was meant to evolve in chaos.”

“The structure is deliberate. Artificial. Layers of defense built into the genome itself. This wasn’t designed to spread. It was designed to outlast humanity.”

RECOMMENDATION :
Immediate escalation to Containment Protocol Omega-4.
All external communication regarding VX-7 is suspended until further review.
Staff exhibiting early-stage symptoms to be relocated to Isolation Wing D3.
