Overall fun game. Performs well, good variety of hunts. Introduction of the follower system can help people that need extra support but don't want to do online coop, or just enjoy their favorite NPCs as company.
Wirebug system and freedom of mobility can feel very strange in the monster hunter setting, but they can be a boon if you enjoy them.
Art style is dramatically different from World and Wilds. Everything together makes for an unusual, but not fully unwelcome experience.
As with all recent monster hunter titles, the major dlc (Iceborne, Sunbreak, what ever the one for Wilds will be) is a crucial part of the overall experience and enjoyment.

Early game can be a bit slow for people, both in combat pacing and general excitement, story may feel both fleshed out and largely unexplained, but it is very charming. And the player power payoff for sticking with it and doing it right is really nice. If it clicks with you, it clicks with you. I really enjoyed the game, the vocation variety, the look and the general feel of everything. Would recommend/10. And once you're pretty much done with everything, you can play the checklist simulator that is capping off your pawn knowledge. It's a nice experience and a decent grind to keep you in or coming back to the game every once in a while to check off a missing star. Completely unnecessary, but it's a nice thing to do for people who may rent your pawn.

It's pretty fun. If you're at all familiar with prior Borderlands entries, this is indeed another Borderlands game. It's not a reinvention of the wheel, but it's a pretty pleasant addition to the series. Story is okay, gameplay is pretty great, visuals are a pleasant step forward, current endgame gearing/grinding probably isn't for everyone. If you enjoy gearing at cap in most mmorpgs, you'll probably get a kick out of gearing in Borderlands 3.
