I'm not gonna go in a lot of details because a lot of reviews did that already, but this game felt like it was released with no passion whatsoever, very disappointing :/

While I did enjoy my time with this game and loved the unique mechanics of only having one arm to do anything at all, this game has it's flaws.

The flare gun feels like a gun that was only supposed to be used for like 2 rooms, it feels really useless and the ammo takes a lot of space.

The achievements also didn't appear on steam but I'm sure that this will be fixed soon enough

The last part of the game felt a bit disappointing too, you can skip the cut scene but it doesn't tell you that you can, so I waited for like 2-3 times before figuring out I didn't have to listen to the entire monologue. The boss fight is literally just a previous enemy but you have to hit corners of the map to kill it, which felt kind of lazy. The boss fight also felt badly designed in the sense that instead of having this intense climatic boss fight, you just go in and die, then realise you have to do everything really quickly in order to not get surrounded by random enemies (that get spawned from the eggs).

The story was pretty good but I feel like the execution could have been better, instead of leaving hints of lore, the game pretty much tells you everything that's going on in your face, leaving not much space for interpretation. the ending of the game felt a bit rushed too, the coworker that the MC apparently treated like ♥♥♥♥ becomes god and then leaves, felt kind of like a cheap ending. Don't get me wrong I would LOVE a sequel of this game (which is what the ending implies), but I feel like there could have been better ways to finish this first game in terms of story.

Overall though, this game was still worth the on sale price (-25% as of writing this), and I can say that at least this game doesn't do cheap jump scares, which is something I can appreciate.

right now the state of this game was fine at first, I was fine with handling the jankiness but then the third level would not load no matter what, as well as some bad game design here and there. im sure me and many others (except maybe the young quest owners) would have been FINE with waiting a few more months for this game, because this is sadly unfinished, hopefully some bug fixes happen soon, because i was really looking forward to play this game when it was READY

EDIT: after finishing the game I feel like this game left this weird impression on me, on one side this game has a LOT of potential, the modding will probably make this game more worth it in a few months, the replayability is better in this game than boneworks too, offering a lot of small game modes on the side. On the other side tho, the story felt a bit lazier. In boneworks, the story had cutscenes and the employees talking to you, felt like some effort was actually given in BW, but in Bonelab, you mostly get clipboards and messages on walls. Although I'm very hopeful that SLZ will patch their games to fix the many bugs and design flaws just like they did for BW.

huge breath of fresh air when most games nowadays are too serious and not chaotic enough. lowkey addicted and can't wait for full version
