Look, the game itself gameplay wise, is not terrible. Combat it the early stages is fairly easy but it has the potential to be quite difficult nearing the end of the game, requireing conservation of resources. Positioning, good use of skills, etc. The problem overall is how absolutely unwieldly the interface is. EVERYTHING is through the mouse. Every. Single. Thing. No hotkeys, no shortcuts, nothing. Want to see the map? Nope, don't push M, you go click on it. Want to close a window? Nope, don't hit Esc, you go click that X in the corner you slave you. Perhaps you'd prefer to move say, your Dwarf first each turn so you can check for traps? Well by god you'd better be ready for hovering madness and hoping you click that shorty each and every time because A) there's no way to make him the first default character (no dragging portaits to move turn positioning around here, no SIR!) and B) there's, you guessed it, no keybind to select a given character slot! For the icing on the cake, besides aaaaall the other clicks you have to do already, you'd better be ready to click your freaking FINGERS OFF so you can finish the game because JUST moving from room to room (and each map/quest has 10-15 minimum) you have to double click the exit of that room for every. single. character. ALL OF EM. Have a party of 4 and realize you need to backtrack 5 rooms so you can get all your skill potions? Well then partner be ready to click a minimum of 80 freaking times to do that simple wander about. A double click per toon, per room= "there and back again: a Dark Quest story". All this might be fine if it was a touch screen game but this is a freaking PC game folks. It goes beyond inane to not even have a rudimentary system of hotkeys or at a BARE MINIMUM the ability to move your entire party from room to room without clicking a bajillion times. There's a decent game here but it is positively buried underneath a UI that has no idea where it is or what its doing.
