Note: This review DOES NOT contain spoilers to the story of the game

-Story review:
To be quite honest, the main story questline for the game actually isn't all that interesting. However, there are 4 characters that have a pretty nice storyline, and I gotta say, those storylines are way better than the main story. Don't take this the wrong way though, the main story is still good. The endings to the game are really done well in my opinion. When I look at the endings, I feel like they have been split up in a "good or bad ending" type of way; some endings are a lot "worse" than the others because of what happens, while others are more wholesome and enjoyable.

-Gameplay review:
If I had to describe the game, it would be like if the game took the gameplay of Fallout 4, the quest system of The Witcher 3, and the overall world of GTAV. Unfortunately, this type of game sort of forces you to play the game build throughout the entire game, and it can get redundant. However, I actually managed to keep it interesting by using different types of weapons (power, tech, and smart). I thought stealthing was lame (since I've done it in literally every game that has it) so I didn't do it for cyberpunk. Let me just say, the gunplay is good if you try to change it up here and there.

I will say this though: CDPR made a map as big and great as Night City, but there isn't much you can do. In GTAV, you can interact with many buildings throughout the world. It's also disappointing that you can't talk to NPC's in the game, since they will just get angry at you.

The cop thing where they literally spawn out of nowhere is annoying, but killing people randomly is only short-term fun, so I don't see why anyone would ever have cops chase them in the first place unless they were that bored. If worse comes to worse, just run away and they will stop attacking you.

The music in this game is great, but can get repetitive, especially if you try to complete the map achievements.

-Review as a PC game:
I didn't have many problems with the game. Sure, the game is buggy, but in my personal experience, I have not experienced a single "game-breaking bug" that has made me unable to play. I understand that the game has issues on console, but I didn't play it on console, so I won't be talking about it. There are tons of physics/geometry bugs, where you will randomly get launched on surfaces that aren't flat, bodies/items explode randomly when on the floor, some quests are buggy, and there are graphics bugs. However, whenever I experienced something that was annoying, simply saving and reloading the save fixed it 99% of the time. The 1% of the time was that there is a quest that I couldn't complete because I did it at a strange order. However, it still counted as a completion (since I was able to get all achievements).

Aside from the bugs, the game ran very well for me. I really only got framerate issues whenever entering the main city area with many people. I was able to run the game on the ultra preset (with the annoying cinematic settings off and the volumetric settings set to lowest) and get 45 fps in crowded city areas, and over 90 fps pretty much anywhere else.

As someone who is a big fan of the Persona series, I was happy to see that the game was finally being released on a system that is more accessible to people. I own the game on the Vita, but I never played it because I kept putting it off.

(Short and simple review)
The game is very worth it at the $20 price tag. Expect to spend around 70-100 hours total playing this (assuming you try to do everything you can). I do recommend you follow a guide if you want to get as much as you can from the game, but you don't have to. There's nothing wrong with not 100% completing the game. Remember that YOU are paying/paid for the game, so YOU can play the game however you want to.

(Game on PC review)
I never really had any issues playing it on PC aside from when Yosuke would do his follow up attack when he wasn't in the party. The audio would get extremely loud and his bike nearly make me go deaf. I fixed this by never using his follow up attack. However, from what I've seen in patch 1.1, it was fixed (unfortunately, I finished the game before 1.1 was released). Aside from this, my PS4 controller worked great with the game, but I couldn't find an option for PS4 controller prompts (not a big deal). The game runs at a flawless 60 fps and I didn't really have any stutters.

(Overall game review - no spoilers)
I'm a huge fan of Persona 5 and I gotta say, one of the only things P5 has over P4 is that it is a newer game. I am 100% confident that if P4G was remade using the same engine that was used to make P5/P5R, P4G could beat P5/P5R (assuming Atlus did it correctly). Unfortunately, P4G was made 8 years ago, and you can really see the age, just from looking at pictures of the game. Aside from that, the story is great and the characters are all great. I do feel like some of the side characters are VERY dramatic (to the point where you don't want to hang out with them), but the main group is filled with very memorable characters. When you finish the game, you actually feel like you just spent all that time being with great friends.

In terms of the fighting aspect of the game, I enjoyed it, but there are some things I didn't like. I am honestly not a fan of the randomly-generated floors (and yes, I did play P3). Unfortunately, this meant that every dungeon felt exactly the same, it's just that the scenery would change. There are puzzles to try and add a bit of change here and there, but in my opinion, the puzzles just made the dungeons feel even more annoying (especially if you're at the end and you're really tired of running through dungeons). To top it off, if you were playing on anything that isn't the hardest difficulty and you fight all the enemies you see, there will be a point in the game where you can just skip all the enemies and go straight to the boss fights. However, the moment you turn on the hardest difficulty, you're no longer having any fun. The good news is, you can tweak different parts of the difficulty to your liking, so you can personally choose how difficult you'd like the game to be, without following any of the developer's vision of difficulty.

Music is also really good. Thought I'd just throw that out there.

Finally, this game has some ridiculously annoying achievements to get. Like seriously, you will more than likely miss some if you aren't following a guide.

This game is a very interesting game in my personal opinion. Some people that have played this game may argue that this game ISN'T "basically another portal". However, the bottom line is: yes, it basically is another portal. The game mechanics are a bit different from portal, but the concepts are basically the same; go through puzzles to the end of the game.

The story is somewhat interesting, but it's hard to pay attention to unless you choose to stop and read everything. Another big issue is that you're so focused on solving puzzles, you may be unable to pay attention to dialogue unless, like previously mentioned, you stop and pay attention to what they're saying.

One small issue I had is that the game is a bit too easy. Don't get me wrong, some parts were headscratchers, but I was able to finish this game with relative ease (7 hours if you include the time where I paused the game and left to go grab some food). I'm not sure if my age has to do with this, but I played portal 1 when I was very young, and portal 2 when it came out, and I just felt that compared to both portal 1 and 2, The Turing Test was too easy for me (I completed The Turing Test the same day I wrote this review, July 2017).

On a more positive side, I found some dialogue to be very fascinating. The talk of tests such as the Turing test and the Chinese room test interested me mainly because the movie 'The Imitation Game' taught me of the Imitation game itself (just saying, I highly recommend the movie).

A cool fun fact is that one of the optional rooms actually requires you to have some knowledge of logical math. I took discrete math two semesters ago and I was very surprised to see something I learned in school was actually necessary to solve a part of a video game (yeah, I never thought I'd ever hear myself say that either).

I feel that the game is worth it for $20, but if you can, wait for it to go on sale to make it a bit more worth it for you.
