This review has been written right after finishing the game for the first time, through all 5 episodes.

Life Is Strange may not be a Telltale game, but it plays very much like one but on the next level. If you liked TTG's The Walking Dead or any of their other titles, then this should appeal to you too. It's an adventure game with decision making involved. Because of this, there is also some re-play value where you can make other decisions to see how the story plays out differently (its all in the detail!).

Dontnod's game story is kinda like the movie Butterfly Effect, in that every decision can have huge repercussions.
At first glance, it looks like a typical highschool teen drama, but it is so much more. You play as art student Max and discover you can change the course of history. What unfolds is a dramatic quest for justice full of twists and turns. A rollercoaster of emotions that only few game can hope to match. I won't spoil any more, because the story is the main attraction here and should not be given away.

Lesson learned: DO NOT JUDGE THIS GAME BASED ON IT'S COVER!

The gameplay is very simple honestly. You walk around and interact with items, the environment and characters. The dialog system is also fairly simple but serves its purpose just fine.

Here's the kicker: YOU CAN REWIND TIME!

Rewinding allows you to use new dialog options you haven't had before (because you already know what the other person will ask/say) or prevent bad things from happening to the characters.

The graphics are kinda like a comic and its fairly fitting. They won't blow you away necessarily, but the game looks good.

Sounds are great. Lots of environmental sounds and good voice acting, although here and there the game could have used some more voice actors (some speak more than 1 character).

More than anything, I find this game having a rather profound impact emotionally. I have spent some time thinking about and this is the phrase I came up with:

"This game will rip your emotional heart out, stab it with a knife, put it back in repeat that over and over again."

That may not sound encouraging, but it fits. Nevertheless, I won't blame you if this game makes you cry.
I saw a grown man (Gronkh the German Let's Player if you are curious) cry after the (sad) ending to episode 2. Big manly tears where shed. I love it when a game "hits the feels" and this one does.

It's a game that makes you think, I will just say that much.

A BIG recommendation to anyone who remotely enjoys the trend of "interactive movie games" out there! Worth full price.

At the time of writing this review, I have just finished the game for the first time ever and have not touched any DLC yet.

This game is a nightmare, but a good way. Originally I only played the first couple of levels and then stayed away from the game due to actual nightmares occuring. However, eventually I came to the conclusion that I NEEDED to beat this game as a fan of the series.

Was it worth another attempt? HELL YES!!!

Remember when A:CM came out? That freaking trainwreck of an insult that almost destroyed the franchise in terms of games?
I remember watching AngryJoe's review of it how pissed he was at it. He mentioned how cool an Alien game would be, with gameplay similar to Amnesia, one of the greatest horror games to date.

Whether it's coincidence or not, thats just what we got and then some!

A:I feels and looks just like Ridley Scott's horror classic movie, but expanded upon. The alien is more terrifying than ever. Some people (including Scott I believe) said that the Xenomorph isn't scary anymore. Seriously, they oughta play this game, they will piss their pants.

The music and sound is great with stellar graphics that run well even without an up-to-date system, although you are gonna need DX 11 to run it. Trudging through corridors while anxiously keeping tabs on a motion tracker never looked or felt this good.

The story isn't the greatest, but it serves the purpose. There are a few twists and surprises and there are quite a few OMG moments in the game that will keep you at the edge of your seat. I constantly had this "one more level" kind of feeling where I just wanted to keep going.

The AI is great. The Alien is smart, adapts to your tactics and can be tricked, but not forever. You cannot kill the alien either, but I prefer it this way. The creature poses a constant (but never unfair) threat and careful decision making will keep you alive, as well as using your limited resources well.

If you are like me and you love horror games AND Alien (the movie) then just go for it. It's an amazing experience that you won't forget, trust me.

At the point of writing this, I have just finished the main story (including the hidden one) but don't have the DLC content. I have 3 characters, one main that's level 60+ and 2 low level alts.

With that in mind, here we go:

First off, this is a great game and I love it. I have been dying for there to be a proper PC Dragon Ball ever since I watched the shows. I waited anxiously, waited (like many) on the Half-Life mod "Earth Special Forces" that lost its significance with this release and I don't think anyone will care now if it does come out and was stuck playing a 2003 version of that mod. Lemmingball Z was fun too, but none of these were what I truly craved.

Enter Xenoverse. I can make my own character, of 5 different races no less. That's a huge plus and its got its own unique story that puts some nice spins on the downtrodden plot that's been done so many times before.

The combat system is alright, I haven't played too many fighting games so I can't really comment on that. All I know is that it takes some time to get used to and the game makes you learn things "on the fly" as it were.

The game is hard, but not unfair. If a quest kicks your rear, you can always do some parallel quests to level up.

There's a ton of skills and attacks in the game, enveloping almost every single attack seen on Dragon Ball.

But there is a one major flaw: the character roster. Sure, the plot is that your own character has its own adventure, however, in parallel quests you can play as them and have them as team mates. Of course, any missing character won't show up in the story either.

So who is missing? Well there's some pretty big omissions such as Frieza's 2nd and 3rd form, Cell's 1st and 2nd form as well as numerous versions of Super Buu missing. But there are also entire characters amiss, these are the ones I certainly miss:

- Zarbon
- Dodoria
- Broly (regular, SSJ and Bio form anyway)
- Androids 16, 19 and 20
- Babidi and all of his crew, including Dabura
- EVERY SINGLE MOVIE VILLAIN AND THEIR HENCHMEN BUT BROLY AS LSSJ (this is a serious flaw to me, as their clothing IS in the game)
- Chiaotzu
- Turtle Hermit
- King Kai

These are characters that I miss, even though they aren't as important:

- numerous Saiyans (Bardock's crew, illusion Saiyans, etc...)
- Tarble
- Cui
- ♥♥♥, Kado and (because of that) Aka
- Kami
- Garlic Jr.
- Chilled
- Demon King Piccolo

So, as you can see, there's some big gaping holes there. I know this game focuses on your own character, which is great and all. But ultimately, for a game where you are supposed to grind levels, there's gonna be little variation of quests at some point. You will fight the same enemies over and over eventually.

In conclusion, it is a great game, but the character roster leaves much to be desired. The DLC adds a few GT characters, which is interesting if that's what you like and you can wish for a few hidden ones from Shenron. But even so, this roster is tiny.

I still recommend the game though, because of the solid character creation and fun combat. Oh and I have never had any server issues, so I guess I got lucky on that one.

TL;DR: The game is lots of fun with solid gameplay, but the character roster is lacking.

I'm writing this review mere minutes after beating the remastered Homeworld campaigns. Bear in mind that this review talks about the remastered games ONLY.

I cannot overstate how much I looked forward to something like this, since Homeworld never had a digital release (good luck getting those old CDs to run).

The remaster is done well, but not perfectly. My biggest gripe being ship squads. In multiplayer, the Homeworld 1 races simply don't stand a chance in the fighter/corvetter categories. Of course that could change with future patches (as I'm sure it will).

Campaign wise, the Homeworld 2 campaign feels nigh-on identical to how it was before. The Homeworld 1 campaign though definitely felt different. It seemed a bit easier, maybe because of the rock-paper-scissors combat system associated with the Homeworld 2 engine. Either way, it was fun and a great trip down memory lane... except it looked a hellova lot better!

But there are some issues, almost all being Homeworld 1 related. Formations need work, simple as that. If I put my ships into a sphere I expect them to hug around a guarded ship, not sit next to it in a ball. Fuel is gone, but TBH, to me (!) that was a positive change overall. The UI is neat and better to me than the old one. This one (like Homeworld 2's original UI) allows you to monitor the action while issueing build and research orders.

Most of the other changes are minor, such as Kadeshi Multibeam frigates not doing a barrel roll when firing or research ships not spinning anymore. All of that could be patched in later though, or modded.

If you can live with the above differences and consider the amazing visual upgrade, then this is absolutely a good buy!

Homeworld is an RTS franchise you OWE yourself to at least try.

First off,I love this game. Its my favorite in the series. Coming from the original Bioshock games, you will find some differences but yet a lot of familiar elements. You still have combat involving firearms as well as special powers (called Vigors this time). There are a quite a few new things though, like a shield and "tears" that can be used to turn the table in a dire situation. The story is very involved and complex and I won't spoiler it here. This is the kind of game where I cannot overstate how important it is to avoid spoilers. This goes double for the ending.

The game has a stronger narrative than the original. There are sections completely devoid of combat, which changes the pace. Unlike the original Bioshock, you can admire the environment (which is simply stunningly beautiful) without having to mow down a dozen splicers first every now and then. But that doesn't mean that this a walk in the park. Just like before there are recordings to find that reveal some of the backstory in bite-sized chunks.

The game's difficulty ranges from snoozefest (easy) to borderline-Nintendo-hard (1999 mode). The latter has to be unlocked by beating the game once on either easy, normal or hard and is a true test of your skills. Without a proper strategy and game knowledge, 1999 can be brutal.

Altogether a game I can recommend to FPS fans and players of the first few games and anyone who likes some light RPG elements in their shooter. Personally, I'm glad to finally have played this. The campaign took me 12 hours to complete, plus another 4-5 for the DLC ones. If you go for another playthrough on 1999 mode, you can add a few more. Reason being that you will have to scrape for every single dollar, vigor and gear you can find.

Great game, can't wait for more!

If you liked the original, theres no excuse to pass this one. A faithful remake with some (but not too many) modern enhancements. Seeing how theres no decent source port for the original ROTT, this one is a no-brainer on a sale!

Best Star Wars RTS yet. With great mod support, a wide variety of units and tons of planets to conquer, this is easily one of the greatest and most fun time wasters you can find. If I had anything to complain about, its that in the expansion, the Zann Consortium is totally overpowered.

Everything I loved about Telltales' Back to the Future game was improved upon for this game. The Walking Dead is based on the TV show, however it focuses on its own characters. While (similar to other Telltale games) there isn't much "game" in this in a standard view, it does have a lot of things going for it. Your decisions tailor the story, its what makes it more engaging than previous games of them.

While I loved the story in BTTF, I cannot deny that being able to actively affect the game more by my choices, makes this the even better game, based on features. The graphics style is reminiscent of comic books (upon which TWD is based on btw). There are some puzzles to be solved in this game, but they are all fairly simple and logical.

If you are looking for a zombie game of a different kind with a good story, believable characters and well written dialogue, then this is most definately worth every penny.

So after playing Serious Sam 3: BFE when it came out, I soon found out that Croteam was going to re-release their old classics again with the new engine I was hyped once again. As much as I liked Serious Sam 3, it just doesn't hold a candle against these classics anymore, not now that they have been made on par in terms of engine.

This is easily the most beatiful looking and frantic classic FPS you will find. I really hope Serious Sam 4 will be more like this again. AND PLEASE NO MORE EGYPT!

I used to think that a horror game with guns can't possibly be as scary as one without any. I was proven wrong. This game is terrifying, with a dense atmosphere unlike any other game I have played. Surviving is rather difficult, this is not only a scary game but a challenging one at that. Since its free, theres no reason any horror buff should pass this one.

Trivia: The game is using the GoldSource engine of the original Half-Life. It has never looked this good!
