Firstly, you should really play Dying Light 1 (DL1) beforehand so you can enjoy some references in the game. But it's totally fine if you don’t care much about that.

Dying Light 2 (DL2) has much better visuals and offers a new experience of exploration. Some might say something feels off, but the devs keep fixing and updating the game. For me, it's always worth it to re-download from time to time.

One thing I really like is that the game lets you decide your own "hood" future, which certainly comes in handy when you're dealing with virals.
