Apperently the game is entirely or borderline broken on some systems. I played this a bunch when I first bought. Tried reinstalling on a PC a while later and there's no way I can get the game to run now. I have installed on several drives, form several compatibility modes, run all the suggested fixes from PCgamingwiki but to no avail.
This is not an isolated case. Looking for fixes, I found post after post of users with similar issues and no working solutions.

Shame. It's a great game, on level with HOMM3, I'd say, but I cannot recommend a game that has a risk of simply not working no matter what you do.
