This is basically the League of Legends of Extraction Shooters.

I have a love-hate relationship with this game, so many things it does right yet so many issues that have gone unaddressed for the longest time.
Hard to recommend despite how much I play it, you literally need to develop a carefree "it is what it is" mindset to enjoy your time, otherwise you will just become a paranoid mess. Also it's borderline mandatory to play with others if you want to get anything done, playing alone is like the Hardcore Mode of this game.
Even if you think you can do it, DO NOT play alone. It will be faster to go outside and smash your balls with the first rock you find.

I mainly dislike how absolutely toxic and rancid the community can be, it makes RUST players look friendly, I'm sure it'd make the Tarkov and LOL players feel at home.
I do think the PlayStation playerbase has helped alleviate some of the toxicity though but this is temporary.

Voyages can also take a while to do, used to be worse till they were reworked, now they're a bit faster but can still take some time and all while you're constantly under the threat of another player showing up.

Want to be a pirate without dealing with pvp? Here. It's not the same art style or vibes but if you just want to have a fun time by yourself you're better off playing this instead of booting up SOT and getting your balls crushed. Because once you buy SOT you run the risk of getting hooked.
