Pudder

One Halloween, Erbert and Gerbert were visiting a friend’s farm when Comet Morehouse spotted them and attacked. As Morehouse backed them into a corner, the boys heard a muffled voice saying something that sounded like, “Hide here, hide here!” They looked around, but all they could see was a giant pumpkin. There was no place else to go, so they burrowed under the pumpkin and stayed put, out of sight, until Morehouse gave up and went back into space. When all was clear, they knocked on the giant pumpkin. Much to their surprise, it responded with, “Hello!” They found a little leprechaun named Pudder who lived inside the giant pumpkin. When the boys thanked him for helping them hide, he granted them three wishes, which is customary when you find a leprechaun in a pumpkin. That day, the boys learned two things: Good things come in little packages, AND, sometimes, little things (like Pudder) come in big packages (like pumpkins).
