I usually don't write reviews, but this game is just so frickin good

I'm going to be honest, I never considered playing. All I knew was that it was a buggy mess and that it was rushed to all hell. All the PR got me interested, but after reading what was going on, I didn't really want to spend 60 bucks for something that was half baked.

A while later Cyberpunk Edgerunners came out, Cyberpunk anime??? WHAT THE HECK??? At this point cyberpunk was on sale, so what the heck, might as well see what the world is like... maybe the anime will hit different (Totally Did BTW, knowing what a sandevistan is and seeing David use it was NUTS) Anyways, bought the game, and did one play through. It started off a bit slow for me, getting through the prologue was kinda iffy, and getting V stronger felt slow with the lack of perks. But once you get some police scans going and some gigs done, you can start to have some fun. I don't remember much to be honest.

2.0 Rolls along and things get GOOD
I see a new expansion (not dlc, Idris will have your head) and a new update role around. What the heck, i'll re download it. Best and worst decision of my life, I WAS AND AM, ADDICTED TO THIS GAME. To the point where i'm doing gigs and NCPD scanners between schoolwork. Told myself, eh, one more scanner and I'll finish this assignment up. Combat is top tier, the gun play feels smooth, and the new perks add so much more variety to builds.

I never really payed much attention to the story and the environment the first time I played, but ya boi got a new computer and this game at high settings is beautiful. Corny statement but Night City feels ALIVE, world building side missions, cop shoot outs, gang activity, the way NPCs interact, I can go on and on. There's just so much to this world! I didn't even use fast travel once. I'd rather hop in my Quadra Javelina to get to my next gig, staring the neon signs at night, or soaking up the sun through the badlands.

When it comes to characters, they express themselves so well. Each character has their own stand out personality. its so fun to see them interact and grow with V throughout the game. Some characters have their own specific story lines, adding more to what they already have. Seeing johnny pop up to say something stupid, or getting a text from Panam, talking about how she's is sick of Saul again is great.

Now the story. It starts off a bit slow but it picks up so fast. The main story is extremely rich and the side jobs and gigs supplement it so well. There are plenty of heavy themes and ideas that popup. Some might make you uncomfortable, and some might make you feel like a philosopher. But these add to the overall feel of night city, and how much of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ place it would be to live in. When I finished the game this time around, I was bordering on tears. The music, the decisions, everything V's done up to this point, it hit so hard. It was breathtaking haha.
