Never forget, never forgive.

They stole $60 from me in 2016 for an unfinished, unfun, poorly-performing product.

The marketing lies and such were atrocious and cannot simply be waved off because they've continued to work on the game in the intervening years -- or really for any other reason outside of perhaps an apology and offering an unconditional refund.

So no, I don't care how the game is now. The game was overhyped trash when I took a chance on it, so it only deserves a review in that vein.

Ah, the never-ending war: monkeys versus balloons! Bloons TD 6 is a great tower defense game with the potential for many, many hours of enjoyment.

Although it is also a mobile game, it does not feature predatory monetization tactics. I haven't spent anything on the game beyond the initial purchase price, and I don't feel that has held me back at all. You can easily acquire more Monkey Knowledge points and Monkey Money, etc. than you'll ever need simply by playing the game.

There are small daily login rewards, but no 'login streak' to maintain, so I don't feel any pressure to play every day. There are fun daily challenges to try though!

Odysseys and boss bloon battles also keep the content fresher and exciting.

Ninja Kiwi continues to update the game and has been doing a fantastic job!

Overall, a definite 'Buy' recommendation from me, if you enjoy the tower defense genre at all.

Excellent turn-based roguelike in a sci-fi setting. You don't need to know anything about the Sword of the Stars universe to enjoy this one! (I certainly don't). Each run is 40 floors of balancing food, health, equipment durability, ammunition, and other resources to try to survive.

I love the sprite-based art style, and the fact that it isn't a fantasy setting -- sometimes I just get sick of those, and want something different like the setting in Binding of Isaac or the like. The sound design is top-notch and enemy idle/alert noises are often critical to letting you know what is coming.

The game can be very challenging, especially on higher difficulty levels, and you should absolutely NOT expect to finish every run. Some runs just won't find the right stuff to make it to the bottom of The Pit. But when you get a good run going, the feeling is exceptionally satisfying.

In a nutshell: Joggernauts is FUN! Both entertaining and challenging, it is difficult yet rewarding, and always a good time. It has a magnetic quality that I will struggle to define... it draws new players in and soon they are enraptured, caught up in the simple joys and victories to be found within this game.

NB This game is best played with friends! And it is local co-op only. But it does feature a single-player mode that suffices quite well if you can't wrangle your friends into picking up a controller.

The comically silly atmosphere draws one in, even as the charming soundtrack and adorable NPCs try to convince you that this is surely a straightforward experience. But bring your best gameplay skills to the table! The deceptively simple controls must be manipulated with care and aplomb if you hope to complete all of the levels. Said levels are devilishly designed to push group coordination further and further, progressively adding new timings, obstacles, and puzzles for the players to traverse successfully.

Crucially, the game has never been too frustrating to me -- and if you find that it is? Just use the built-in difficulty modifiers to tone things down a bit! (You can also use the modifiers to make the game more difficult, e.g. by enabling a one-hit K.O. mode.)

Since this game was released, and prior to authoring this review, I've had the pleasure of introducing three friends to Joggernauts. While I had the advantage of having played an earlier build of Joggernauts at a gaming convention, they had never even heard of the game. I'm happy to report that my friends took to the game as quickly as I first did, and before we knew it, it was an hour later and we were basking in the elation of having cleared the first of three worlds within the game.

Each world has a familiar map screen leading to numerous levels. Each level contains trophies to collect, some that are more difficult to activate or reach than others. Obtain all of a level's trophies and you're afforded one chance to clear a bonus round. Snag none of the trophies? No problem! You still complete the level! (However, there is a minimum number of trophies required to unlock the final stage of each world.) There are also bonus playable characters to unlock, and probably a few other things I haven't found or am forgetting to mention!

Compared to the beta version that I had previous experience with, I am most impressed with the addition of the solo play option and the difficulty modifiers. These features make a profoundly positive impact on the game, and it's to the developers' credit that they put forth the additional effort to include said features.

I've completed the first world of the game both solo and co-op now, and I'm convinced you'll enjoy Joggernauts no matter how you play it. I can wholeheartedly, unabashedly recommend it. Buy it now - you'll have a great time!

UPDATE: with the recent release of Joggernauts v1.1, we see continued developer support in important areas like UI improvement, alongside some fun new content in collaboration with other indie developers. That's right: there are new unlockable joggers, like Commander Video from the Bit.Trip series and Cowpokes from West of Loathing. I appreciate that this game is still receiving attention from its makers, and I think that bodes well for its future.

A very unique experience that quickly became one of my favorite games. It has some features that I really enjoy, such as no failure states: you will never see a 'Game Over' screen; you may not understand where to go next at times, but you are never actually stuck.

This game is quite difficult to describe. I suppose that calling it a puzzle game is correct. And it is also first-person. You obtain a gun, although it isn't for shooting enemies... The world is in non-Euclidian space... The goal appears to be simply to reach an exit door that you can see right from the start. I suppose I can only recommend that you play it so you can see things for yourself.
