The second installment in the series takes us to a haunted camp — get in, loser, we’re going glamping. The developer calls it a sequel, but I firmly believe this game stands perfectly well on its own. You don’t need to be familiar with Duck Detective: The Secret Salami to enjoy this one… though you definitely should play it. But that’s a conversation for another time.

The game gives you the gloriously unnecessary ability to make your quack heard while running away from government letters, the emotional debris of a long-gone marriage, and a worsening bread addiction.

Everything I loved in the first game is here: the humor, the absurdity, the brilliant voice acting, the visual style — just with the dial cranked from 10 to 11. The addition of animated comic-style cutscenes (or whatever you want to call them) gives it a slightly cinematic flair.

The only downside of the Duck Detective franchise is that I want more!
