I have loved this game since I bought it about a week after launch, but never left a review because the overwhelmingly positive score from the community made me decide that my opinion would be merely a drop in a massive tsunami.

Then after a few months, Arrowhead and Sony announced that it would be mandatory to have a PSN account in order to continue playing the game, something I was not comfortable with nor willing to make one. The community backlash was massive, and I was worried this would be another game I would have to stop playing due to poor developer/publisher choices, forcing unwanted changes upon the community and making us give out more personal information to another company with an iffy record on cyber security.

But it has been announced that Sony has decided to no longer push through the update that would force all players to have a PSN account after a public backlash and a massive drop in review scores, and I wanted to do my part to show appreciation for the fact that the community was heard, and this unwanted change was scrapped.

Outside of all that, this game is excellent. It is tense, exciting and was my early GOTY contender. The whole PSN account thing has soured me on that opinion, but there is plenty of time for Arrowhead Studios to pull it back and earn back the goodwill from the community that these last 48 hours have burned through.

I have owned this game since release, and my playtime as of this review should speak of how much I have loved this game. Despite all that, I could not recommend people spend their money on this game due to bugs and missing features at launch. With the 2.0 update, this is the best Cyberpunk has ever been and I can fully recommend this game to people who may be nervous about dropping money on this, as well as lapsed/burned players who would have had a negative experience at launch.

Normally I would not give a game that was released in that state a pass for eventually being fixed and added to, but CD Projekt Red have shown they are dedicated to the IP, and was proven to me over 3 years with the frequent updates and additions, including a transmog system, new apartments and new weapons. This all culminated in the 2.0 updated, changing how police and Maxtac work, reworking the perk system, adding vehicle combat, better AI and deadlier enemy netrunners.

So now there is a lot of substance to back up the incredible visuals, effects, audio, music and writing. It has all come together to be a truly astounding game that could have been a game of the year contender if it had released in this state.

When this game was first announced, I rolled my eyes and immediately blew it off as another generic Battle Royale. After a few weeks of a friend of mine trying to convince me to give it a shot, I finally caved and installed it. What I experienced when I booted the game up for the first time was a fast paced shooter, with a surprising amount of strategy and risk vs reward gameplay.

While it is still in early access, and has the occasional technical glitch or hacker, the developers have been very receptive to suggestions and critiques from the community, implementing a lot of the suggestions raised on their discord.

I would recommend giving this game a solid crack. It deserves that much at the least, and I am very certain you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find.

I love this game. A side scrolling MetroidVania with rogue-like elements and fantastic combat and exploration makes this an easy recommendation for purchase.

Just... Just play it blind. Experience this incredibly unique visual novel. Saying anything else would be a spoiler.

As a fan of the show and The Stick of Truth, I can completely recommend this game to any South Park or RPG fan. It is just as hilarious as the last game, if not more so, And the upgraded combat system lends more challenge and thought to the game play.

A really strong start to Season 2 after an absolutely amazing first season. I can't wait until the next episodes are released.
