For history and Total War lovers alike, this game combines realism and gameplay in a well balanced and thoughtful manner.

I find this game to be one of the most classic and enduring Real Time Strategy games of all time. If you like Star Wars, you will love this game and even if you don't the world exploring aspect of this game is also very extensive so you will feel immersed in that universe.

If you like games like Halo, Gears of War, or Call of Duty you'll like this game. On top of that, if you are a fan of the Warhammer 40k universe - this will be a game you need to play! Although the campaign can be kind of a slog, it's still pretty decent but the level of customization with regards to your Astartes' armor makes up for the few shortcomings of this game. Moreover, if you like firefight / survival style gameplay modes - Exterminatus has you covered.

I've been playing the Total War series since about 2003 when I started playing Rome Total War. I played Medieval 2 afterwards and almost all of the ones until Rome 2. Although the Emperor Edition fixed a lot of issues, there are sometimes issues with the AI during campaign battles but that has always been a bit of a struggle to carry out successfully. Overall, I find this is a great game that you can use your imagination to make even more thrilling with the whole political structure of the game as well as the family tree (as always). I also found the inclusion of naval battles a great bonus to this game and have fought many close battles in my last campaign as the Roman Republic. Sure, it's not a perfect game - but I still think it handles a lot of the historical context of the historical period really well and treats diplomacy as more of a real, barb-filled activity. I definitely recommend this game for any who are craving to live in the time of the Roman Republic, or you are simply another Total War fan that hasn't taken a crack at this game yet because of other bad reviews.
