Do not buy this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a game.

The definition of development hell. I bought it for $1 years ago and I still overpaid.

If you are a well balanced, generally happy individual and want to know what it's like to live with crippling depression, then this is your game.

I would say more but that just about sums it up.

TL;DR: You're buying an overpriced tech demo.

If I had to describe Boneworks in one word, it would be janky.
Hows the physics? Janky.
Hows the gunplay? Janky.
How is walking from point A to B? Janky.

Everything about Boneworks sounds amazing on paper, but in practice it just didn't feel right. The physics engine tends to flail your head around wildly every time you try to interact with any object in the world. The guns, well.. The actually shooting felt pretty good, but every other interaction with the guns felt, well, janky.

The story is, well... There was a story? To be honest I couldn't tell you if there was or wasn't one. Something about watermelons? If you buy this, understand you're playing through some loosely related physics based puzzles (If you've played HL2 you've basically seen them all).

I have many, many hours in both Oculus and SteamVR since 2016 (and DK1 before that), and can easily spend all day in VR on a weekend. In Boneworks, I could barely make it 2 hours with taking gravol. "For VR Veterans" doesn't excuse being lazy and creating a (subjectively) bad product.

All that being said, this game had it's moments, but they were unfortunately few and far between. The last few hours especially were not because I enjoyed it, but because I paid for the damn thing and I was going to beat it. I think the 'v2' of this tech could be very promising, and I hope SLZ is working away at it, but until then, this tech demo is not for everyone.

Can't stop rubbing stick and rocks together.

10/10, would F.U.N.C. again.

- Poor hygeine
- Doesn't flush toilet or wash hands. Seriously, who does that?

Day 1 - I found a rifle, warm clothing, and lots of food
Day 2 - I've reached a large, warm cabin. I shall make this my home.
Day 4 - I killed my first wolf. He was delicious.
Day 9 - I own this land. The blood of many wolves stain the snow, I'm wearing no less then 17 dead animals.
Day 14 - It's lonely being the King of the North. I should go and see the world.
Day 16 - Blizzard outside. I don't care, I'm the King of the North.
Day 16 - It's a bit nippy out.

And that's the story of how I became a sleeping bag meat popsicle.

7/10, would wear 17 dead animals again.
