Papa Biceps, please save this game

Let me start by saying that people who got pre release copies were not informed about the microtransactions which is a clear as day intention from capcom to mislead and impact day one reviews from these people.


Character customization - very pricey in game with the beyond the rift money, will take you around 10 hours to farm enough currency for one and there are only TWO total so far AND its the same item for your Arisen and Pawn customization.

Fast Travel - Huge gold sink if you wanna buy them with in game currency and the few shops that have them only stock ONE of the item (will make you go broke), can be found in the open world but is somewhat rare (in my 10 hours, I found around 5).

Pawn Inclination change - Also a big beyond the rift money sink, incentivizing you to buy this if you want to change your pawns Inclination. At least the shop that sells them sells a ton of them I guess.

Camping kit - You cannot obtain this in game unless you have bought this microtransaction at least ONCE...?!. One of the less agregious micros since camping gear is abundant and not a big gold sink

Gaol Key - A less impactful item and not very pricey in the in game shops. Most shops only sell ONE. I have found only ONE in my explorational travels.

Smoke Beacon - A mostly useless item that you can RARELY find while exploring. I havent seen a merchant sell this yet and by the progression point you might find one selling it, its useless anyway (Harpies are a joke enemy)

Thoughtful Gift - somewhat of a useless Item, havent seen it drop OR sold by anybody, but since it serves very little purpose and doesnt impact gameplay at all...so be it.

Wakestone - a somewhat RARE item that you WILL NEED unless youre a veteran dogma player that plays very carefully or if you dont mind loading back to a save after every death. A VERY PRICEY item in the in game shops and once again they mostly stock only ONE and then youre out of luck. You can find this item or its shards (three shards make one) exploring and in my 10 hours so far I have found 3 stones in total (including the 6 or so shards)

Points Beyond the Rift - For good Pawns, you need around a 131 points to hire them. For the Character Customizaton item you need 500, for the Inclination its around a 100 I think ? You get these by finding riftstones in the world or by sending your pawn on a mission. In my 10 hours of ignoring main quest and just exploring, I accumulated about...430ish points ? Grindy as heck.

Pros:
- Combat
- Music
- Exploration
- Character Creator
- Large enemy creatures feel great to fight unless in multiple numbers

Cons:
- Weak story
- Horrible performance (Cyberpunk has about 50x more going on screen than dogma and runs 50x better)
- Frequent Crashes
- Denuvo
- In game mechanics built to incentivize people to pay for the micro transactions (pay for convenience)
- Not a lot of weapon variety
- Pawn (AI) pathfinding is horrible
- No lockon in a souls ish like combat (Camera rarely ever keeps up with the action so lock on is sorely needed)
- Camera FOV is very limited so I felt motionsick and couldnt really keep up with action around me (solved with a mod -.- :( )
- Enemy Variety is sorely lacking. I doubt the wolf population will ever recover from the onslaught.
- Movement can feel very very slidey and unresponsive.

Shadowheart forever in MY heart

gives u ptsd from the shells impacting close to you and a crazed enemy will spear you and your whole regiment with a bayonet before you blink an eye.

10/10 would get ptsd again

Players: Devs, please fix/add these things so that the game is more enjoyable for all players
Devs: Here, we revamped the one singular thing nobody complained about and everybody liked, now go eat the smelly dirt on the side of the road and gib us more money for handshakes :3

If you read the book series (metro 2033,2034,2035) and you want to experience the story of one of these books, then you are in the wrong place, but if you want to experience Artyom as an badass who can single handedly destroy 20 guys in heavy armor, fall into a cave with something that looks like it just got obliterated by a chainsaw and buldozer and yet still wants to eat you and then defend D-6 while Miller gives you a hype-up speech how you are the Spartan order's best soldier along with 20 more men ? Then youre in the right place. And in an add-on missions you can play as an Order's sniper who is actually a female and has a 50. Cal sniper rifle with which you can go ham OR play as a guy who got stuck in a spider's nest with a ton of flamethrower fuel ?
By the way this game has 2 endings. One is good but it doesnt end well for you and one is Good and that one ends well for you. But this second one is hard to get and if you want to experience Dark Souls combined with Metro the try to complete this game on the hardest difficulty without killing anybody who is human. You'll get your ass raped.
