honestly a fun game for a while before later but there is an issue with the level scaling that is annoying especially when going to certain areas where they look hardly different than you yet have like 10 times the health

i think a physics fighting system would be better so one can enjoy the game with skill and cunning instead of schlapping on upgrades to something to make it illogically more powerful even though its cotton or animal skins

naval combat is nice tho and is hella fun

7/10 would bash through athenian ships again

a charmingly silly adventure that can be played alone

puzzles are simple and engaging but can feel repetitive at times but the vibes of the whole game is fun overall with a self aware narrator

graphics:
decent if not stylized

gameplay:
simple but enjoyable (slow startup tho left me able to almost literally walk through areas with out real concern till about half way through lol)

overall an enjoyable experience when bought on sale (i bought it on sale for 30$ for the deluxe version) but if played with a friend it would be worth the full price ... but seeing as i dont have any consistent friends on here i guess playing alone has its merits

i was able to maintain 70fps max settings (vulkan) in 4k with a GTX 1080ti and that plus the decent graphics and things made the experience enjoyable and smooth enough to be impressive

movement how ever needs to be addressed

no dedicated jump ability (diving is not jumping) and you cannot "dive" if there is zombies or objects in the way resulting in one being literally trapped in very simple places at times in very intense fire fights with those faster zombie variants (that and the sprint ability is automatic which can be nice but at times i find myself pressing SHIFT only to toss dynamite instead of moving faster lol)

all those issues aside the puzzle mechanics might not bring me back but the charm of the whole thing might :)

if i can get a friend to get this game and play it with me i would rate 9/10 but because i played it alone i would say 8/10 buy on sale if you can but dont miss out on this more unique game

graphically this game is madertful

but with the forced online experience i feel this games longevity is based solely on how long the dev wants to support the game

if an offline mode was added *AS A CHOICE* then it would be nice

offline would allow practicing and maybe specific game modes like an untimed survival mode with 3x NPCs or something

adding closed network LAN support would be nice as well

but now for the review:

PROS:

graphics are astoundingly brilliant (all it needs is some RTX lol)

general vibe is awesome

weapon play is interesting

mid 1800s "Supernatural"

Sound design is supurb

CONS:

always online

moderately poor online preformance due to poorly done region checking (plays online while connected to EU and Russia without the option ot choose what server to play on)

no solo modes

no offline support

no story mode

all in all a decent game with awesome graphics and excelent sound design

but the lack of offline or closed LAN support breaks it for me

as much as i would love to reccomend this game its not quite there yet ..

allow for offline as an option and i might feel better playing it

gotta say i can see this game has potential to be great but the issue i have with it is lack of maps and the odd turning with the triggers

i would like a control scheme where its exactly like Skate 3 and a higher up camera angle because i dont like looking at his butt lol

also i feel the "dude" has no real weight behind him when he falls down (he looks likea like a rubber floppnoodle lol)

but aside from the oddly alien control scheme and the wonky ragdoll physics this can be a very fun game

i feel it just needs a few more maps (maybe 2 dozen or so) and a simplified and optional set of objectives

the graphics look decent and the way the board interaction is feels very accurate which is very nice :)

i just wish that there was the option to raise the camera to head level or slightly higher and to allow for walking around and maybe make the skater more resilient to slow and simple collisions

preformance of the game tho is stellar at ultra settings in 4k tho :)

7/10 would flop over a wall at 2mph again

its a shame they did not flesh it out as much as i would have liked

i would personally have wanted more dynamic objects and things to break/blow up

cant carry 3 weapons anymore

overall it could be alot worse but i wish that it wasnt so bad

preformance wise i dont have any issues because it runs at ~100fps at 1080p on my rig with minimal if no crashes or issues

looking back would i like to refund it .... yes ... but its too late for that now

do i like the new liberating system ... not really

do i like the fact the water dynamics were lessened and the engine is starting to look dated ... no

do i wish i could blow up buildings among other things ... yes

would i play this on occasion... maybe

is it better than JC3 ... not really ... its on par with it in some ways but most things it seems lesser because they are using a dated engine

if they had re written the engine to have better graphics and maybe even more physics objects and larger draw distances that would be nice

but as it is currently its not as good as it could have been :<

i give 5/10 because its a new just cause game but it could have been so much better

well its a simple racing game with a fun shooting mechanic

the game itself feels like one of those oddball classics (like full auto or twisted metal)

but is new

the graphics are decent the handeling is fair and the gameplay is quite solid

i personally enjoy the fact it does have LAN capabilities among other things

it runs at a solid 240 fps maxed out on my system in 1080p ... overall i give it a 8.2 out of 10 for how simple and easy and fun it is

as much as i liked the movie ... this game is a shadow of what it could be ... second life is much closer to the oasis but its lacking proper VR support (which is where VR chat comes in) ... i myself am not a social person so that game wont work for me

as far as i am aware i only got the kinda craptastic zombie tower thing running ... cant find the gauntlet levels or any other levels (even though they supposedly exist)

the input for game play is a bit lack luster and i would like to have the ability to smack or hit creatures and items with my hands as well as using projectile weapons otherwise it feels empty

this game needs to have some kind of connection with Second life or at least try to emulate it
i dont mind if it has a little bit of everything but as long as those things are designed properly (which what is there needs some heavy tweaking)

preformance wise i never had any real issues

overall with the price tag and what is there its a bit harmless for the monent

there is potential here but it needs some serious work before its worthy of any "oasis" lable

6/10 might willingly get confused by menus again

i bought this game back when it was in early access ... i have been dissapointed with it because the preformance with net play is terrible (and since its the foundation of the game i would expect it to be strong but instead its weak)

pros:

generated a new game genre
large map
good gun play and models

cons

netplay is poorly coded
no dedicated servers (or has lackluster dedicated servers)
chinese hackers not being dealt with properly
texture streaming preformance is poor
general frame rate even on high end rigs is rickety at best


if they fixed the net code to be solid and removed the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ paid micro transactions and fixed the texture streaming problems and made it so that the game preformed consistently
then it would be 7/10

but with all its flaws its a 3/10

notice the problems with the game and then fix them without tryint to sue someone because you are salty they did it better than you

this game is awesome and was really fun to play ... but even though its fun to play i would love to see native Steam Workshop support for this game and have it integrated to the BeatSaver Website so by default the game can support the custom songs (as thats where the real fun is)

pros:
runs snooth like butter on almost any system
excellent "feel" when slicing through the boxes
wonderful sound design

cons:
no native custom song level thing
the third party custom song plugin was broken with the latest update which can render it useless if one has over 100 songs downloaded from the plugin
small library of "default" songs (they are fun but there is not enough of them and after playing some of the really hard custom songs the in game vanilla songs at hardest difficulty are no longer difficult)

overall 7/10 ... if they added steam workshop support and had that integrated with the Beat Saver website i would give it a 10 out of 10

takes up alotta RAM when rendering floofy things ... killed my other computer with 12 floofy things

10/10 would burn out my CPU for extra detail again
