TL;DR: Stray is a 6-8 hour game with solid storytelling, an immersive soundscape, and clever gameplay mixed with thoughtful puzzles. It's 100% worth the money if you enjoy story-driven games that make you think.

There are people who will hate on this game for having a cute cat as a protagonist, or for being short, and they completely miss the point of the game - it doesn't have to be a 100-hour, open-world, survival game with crafting just to be good. If you want another regurgitated clone to saturate the market, go seek elsewhere. This game is for people who actually appreciate well-made games.

Graphics
They're absolutely beautiful and help paint a world in so much detail. From the way the physics are implemented to the design of the world ro even small details like the petals on flowers or the textures on fabrics, BlueTwelve Studio manages to shape the world ever so beautifully, and I love them for it.

Audio
Stray doesn't have strong soundtracks and melodies you might find in other games, but what it does have is a fully immersive, well-made soundscape that will help you fall in love with the world instead of be distracted. There are also hidden songs you can find, most of which sound nice.

Storytelling
While at the time of writing this, I haven't finished the game, I can already say that the storytelling in Stray is really good. It's nothing mindblowing, but it doesn't have to be. You've got your world with each character you meet being their own person and their own personality. It doesn't feel boring, or does it feel like it drags on. I feel fully invested and can't wait to keep playing.

Protagonist
A lot of people will moan and complain that Stray is popular only because the protagonist is a cute cat. They've clearly not played this game. Yes, the protagonist is a cute cat, but it's the fact that the devs used motion-capture on a real cat to animate the protagonist so realistically that makes people like it.

It's not just a cute cat; it has its own story full of emotions, and you'd know that if you'd actually play the damn game.

Technical
There are a few stutters and minor bugs here and there, but I can excuse that. It's just the first day (as of writing this). I'm certain there'll be fixes. Overall, though, the game runs really smoothly on my specs at 1440p max (5600X, 6800XT, 16GB RAM), so if you're running similar specs, you'll be fine.

Is it worth it?
I've been told that Stray is allegedly 6-8 hours long if you're trying to 100% it. For its price, I think it's worth it. A lot of people have been conditioned to expect 60+ hours for every popular game now, and sadly that made them very disillusioned. It's perfectly acceptable for a game to be "short" if it's really good, and so far, Stray is excellent. So don't pay attention to the game's length. If you're willing to pay $10-15 for a 2-3 hour movie, then there should be no issue paying $36.99 for a 6-8 hour game.
