This game is a great example of how fun and engaging gameplay can trump flashy visuals. EA should take note and remember what made the original battlefield worthy of starting a franchise

Probably the best city builder ever made, great mod community and official DLC, in a more negative tone, though, there are plenty of QOL improvements that some mods provide (metrics, traffic, asset positioning management, for example) yet, developers refuse to acknowledge these needs with official patches or features.

As of launch date:

- The game needs more content

- All the nations are pretty much the same

- Lack of a proper tutorial (the game displays some objectives, but loosely tied together)

- The minimized war system works like ♥♥♥♥

I'd say wait for more DLCs

More than 2 years after the release, I think the game suffers from a critical lack of genuine content, the overall experience is, in comparison with its predecessor, watered down and klunky. AI is almost unexistent, you can play as any random count and become a god emperor in 2 generations, without any doubt or difficulty.

Warfare is still mostly broken, with viking invasions & crusades being the most affected events, combined with the already mentioned lack of AI. About content, in more than 2 years, they barely shipped proper content in my opinion, artifacts & a lackluster "iberian struggle" system, that's it. No republics, no plagues, no Carolingian consolidation, no system enhancement, nothing.

As of the time of this review, the project is in a skeleton crew, so I won't get my hopes so high for the future of the franchise.

We'll always have CK2 though.

The best Fallout game -arguably along with Fallout 2- ever made. A true RPG experience where its player agency is felt from the very beginning
