Love the game and story and have finished it a few times. However... The combat mechanics are laughable, You put barely any input into it whatsoever you literally click attack and remove your hands from the controls and hope your caracter actually hits the target with a blaster even tho it is only 5 metres away and you'd have to be 90 years old without your glasses on and have Parkinsons Disease to miss anything that is that close...

If you want a game with interesting combat in a good interactive story driven game go to Mass Effect which is actually good on both fronts and is made by the same company (BioWare)
If you like a good interactive story driven game and can bear to handle the stupidity of a barely interactive combat system that relies on a dice throw chancy style then you'll love this game, simple as that.

This is still the best Hitman game in my opinion, I'm not big on the churchy theme but this game without a doubt has the best mission list of all the Hitman games. You go to Italy, Russia, Germany, Japan, Malaysa, Afghanistan and India with 2 or 3 missions in some locations and the characters there actually talk in their own language or accent! Something the current Hitman game unfortunatly doesn't do (Pretty rediculous hearing every store owner in the middle east talk with an english or american accent on Hitman 2016...)

Fun and challenging game, especially when you aim for that Silent Assassin rating ;)

A good idea if you are on newer systems is to download dgVoodoo
Enable the VSync option and tweak the settings to your taste using the dgVoodooCpl.exe.
Copy the dgVoodoo.conf then d3d8.dll from the MS folder into the Hitman 2 directory
you only need to copy d3d8.dll & dgVoodoo.conf into Hitman 2's directory nothing more.

Yes there's glitches and yes it's poorly optimised regardless of system specs (don't feel bad if you average 30FPS in a well populated server, we're all in the same boat) if you have this installed on an SSD and have a decent CPU you'll be fine 👌 This game recommends a GTX 660 (released in 2012) so any gaming grade graphics card between that and whatever you can get now will be more than adequate to run the game.

What this game lacks in optimisation it more than makes up for in content, community and overall experience. There is no other game that offers the scale, variety and sheer ability to do whatever you want with the tools Bohemia Interactive so kindly give us with this game. There is a highly detailed mission creator, AI, countless mods to choose from, plenty of game modes, a decent playerbase even 8 years after the initial release and has been increased once again by the newly released Vietnam DLC.

I've had this game since it was first released back in 2013 yet it keeps bringing me back for more, there's nothing like it around and Arma 4 still hasn't been announced to replace it yet so what are you waiting for?

Still a great game today, I do wish the A.I was not so bad however... The original Battlefront has far superior A.I in my oppinion.
On this you will notice the A.I have a player priority targeting style (look through a scope across Kashyyyk and you'll notice the enemy heads are always pointing in your direction) and also the way the friendly A.I follow you around and keep a perfect distance either side of you which can cause some annoying issues when you get close to a wall and turn around, a problem that SWBF1 never had...
In SWBF1 the A.I would follow you at a safe distance and if you're going into a room they would find a corner and cover you while crouched and the snipers would find a nice high point and lay prone supporting troops from afar... it has much more believable A.I and i wish they had have carried that over into this game...
But this has one thing that SWBF1 never did. Space battles! The A.I come into fault here too being terrible spawning in from far corners of the battle randomly and pulling 180's in a split second while flying dropships... But you can have some great fun on this game and now that multiplayer works again (FINALLY!) you don't have to live with the rediculous A.I issues I mentioned as much ;)

PLEASE BRING THE ORIGINAL BATTLEFRONT TO STEAM!

Awesome game! I had the CD-ROM version of this game years ago and never managed to finish it but today, today i finaly have and you know what? I enjoyed almost every minute of it, the expansion of Dark Forces II called Mysteries of the Sith.

I recomend playing Dark Forces II Jedi Knight before diving into this!

This game is old, 20 years old in fact but even then it still plays alright.
If you came into this game from Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy and expect this to have the same epic saber combat you'll be dissapointed... Let's just say as cool as it is using lightsabers in this game it is definantly not a strong point in these early games... It can be difficult to hit where you want and the saber blocking is extremely hard to master, in short I pretty much stuck to guns the entire way.
The last couple of levels are extremely tedious and you'll soon make best friends with the quicksave button but they are at least interesting and if you love a challenge then you will love this!
You play as Mara Jade through majority of the game and she was once the Emperors Hand!
Most of the level design in this is substantualy better than the previous game as well.

If you have read this far in then you are probably considering buying this game, and i think you should! Just make sure you download dgVoodoo and place the D3DImm.dll & DDraw.dll in the game directory, this will allow you to use 3D Accelerated Graphics and 16bpp colours!

Multiplayer is still alive in these games and there is a Discord group that orginises games and supplies the IP Addresses to connect with!

This game has Live Action Cutscenes (Filmed with Actors) and they are pretty cool to be honest, the last time i seen anything like it was in the C&C Tiberium Wars series, quality may not be the best but come on this is a game from the mid 90's and having cutscenes like this is actualy epic!

Delete Jedi.EXE as you don't need it, deleting it will allow you to launch the game through Steam.
