Now that Sony has back off from their bout of epic stupidity, I can not recommend this game enough. It truly is a great game and is currently my vote for game of the year.

Well it's not Skull Island: Rise of Kong.

My opinion is mixed right now but fairly positive on the game.

Running on a top end PC the game looks great on High at 100 plus FPS, just make sure you turn off frame rate cap as that causes all kinds of issues. 20 minutes in and i got 2 crashes, but they have already released a patch to "fix" the crashes so we will see. The New character creator though is very nice, but does leave me with mixed feelings. Gone are the days of the Aborant Survivor Clones, and that is both a good and bad thing.

I'll try again after work since they updated and, leave an updated review.

So after a bit of googlefu I found the issue causing my crashes was the frame generation, and once disabled haven't experienced an issue since.

That said, while I do still recommend the game I feel the need to warn everyone about the scum known as Nitrado. If you were hoping to host your own server cluster for you and your friends, you can't. If you wanted to use your trusted server provided that you've used for that last 8 years and haven't had an issue with, well you can't . You can only use Nitrado. And if that wasn't bad enough, if you decide to go to Nitrado to get a small server for you and a few friends, well you can't. It's a minimum server of 26 slots for 24.79 euro or 26.23 american. Oh and thatch just the price now, they can raise it when ever they want for what ever reason they want with no warning what so ever.

That said you can apparently host a single server on your own equipment per game key, but only one, which means no clusters.

In conclusion I still think Ark Ascended is worth a buy in my opinion, but be careful about unofficial play

I've played the game since lunch and have loved it. While there have been plenty of ups and downs, and some weird questions such as why cant i breath the the wolf and deer can, over all the game has been great. That is the keyword there, game. Alot of other reviewers smash it because it's not realistic (read comment about breathing) but when i play a game I'm not necessarily looking for realistic. Some realism is fine, even desired, but if this was 100% realistic, then it would just be another chore instead of a game.

Now this new update/DLC has brought alot of what the DEV's promised and the players asked for, and I am looking forward to putting many more hours into the world.

So far I loving the game. Most of the launch issues have been resovled and the game is a blast so far.

I thought that as a browser based game it was bloody epic. It had decent graphics and game play. But then i found the cash shop and reliezed just how much of a pay to ein game this was. It was absolutly insane the pay2win bonuses. If it wasn't for that I would have recommend this game.

Absolutly loved this game.

If you like games with lots to do then this would be a gmae for you.
