Dark Souls 3 is an amazing installment to the Souls series, and it is a proud finale as well. Dark Souls 3 is my absolute favorite with the first close behind. I believe anyone and everyone looking for a good game to play the Souls games are my top recommendation to anyone. It has an impossible to dislike world and the gameplay is beautifully accurate to a fantastical medieval setting. But most of all I think the story is the best part, it is mysterious and to get much of it and understand you have to really pay attention and actually seek information. This game and its predecessors are masterpieces.

Very quickly became one of my favorite games of all time. I am a huge fan of the Souls games, and this game takes the "SoulsBorne" style to the next level. As soon as I entered the world I was struck with nostalgia and wonder. It brought me back to the first time I played Breath of the Wild, where I just started wandering and discovering things. I wasn't focused on any story elements until quite a few hours in. Elden Ring takes that, and turns it up to 11, every twist and turn there's something new. I never once felt like there was any monotony or repetition. I just kept exploring, I didn't even kill the first shardbearer until well over 30 hours. I can't wait to see what they do with DLC, From never ceases to impress!

Having beaten the game, I can safely say this is open world done correctly. They took the best elements from the SoulsBorne games, and improved upon them tenfold.
