I cannot recommend this game in good faith, I'm facing another soft lock and close my game to write this

The world and atmosphere is phenomenal, and everything is faithful to the originals with lots of references and easter eggs for old fans

Just unforunately it is plagued with a lot of problems that don't show their untill you continue to progress through the main game,

You've all heard of and are aware of A life being broken, enemies spawning inside you or 10m away from you cyberpunk 2077 style where you do a 360 and now there is someone there. missing night vision and binoculars, bad performance, broken economy, unbalanced health pools but the game continues to get worse and make those problems much more significant, while also now giving you far more serious problems, NPCS blocking doors, extremely important doors to missions not opening, critical story missions not activating, Mission objectives not activating, subtitles not displaying or giving your incorrect subtitles like randomly displaying in UKR, few hard crashes here and there, I think I've encountered 3 full on soft locks that I have had to load previous saves or download tools to progress, instant kill sniper zones, weapons magically spawning in your own hands, getting stuck in dialogue where you have to reset the game,

I'm just now remembering 2x scripted events in a swamp area where you're forced to carry an extremely heavy item with some incredibly important loot and you spend 2 hours waddling to take it all home

I love this franchise and this game, the exploration, the story so far, the gun fighting when its good is great but continuing to play it really falls apart on you

Stopping players who bought the game in one of the 118 countries you just banned from buying is putrid

Sony has had at least 10 data breaches, why the ♥♥♥♥ are they forcing PC players to give their details to join their compromised network, not to mention some countries require your government ID when signing up too

Genuinley a fun and immersive game with so many things to do and different ways to play

albeit some downsides like bad map ui, no fast travel glossary, ship interiors can be funky, lack of fov slider and of course the pretty awful performance especially on AMD cpus when paired with an Nvidia card and even with a whole list of negatives the world is beautiful and the absurd amount of unique characters to speak and quests to do. its a really deep game that takes a bit to get beneath the surface

I was absolutely estatic about frictional games making another Amnesia that I hoped would be closer to the original Amnesia as well as their penumbra games but this strays far from it and towards a game like Alien isolation which is great if you enjoy that but its not for me personally and I'm an enormous Aliens and horror fan

Instead of the threat being a constant presence on the map that you could lock into a room or sneak around in and breathe a sigh of relief as you have some time to explore safely this doesn't

the threat is now a """"constant presence"""" with it's teleporting around the map and small holes that it can just appear from at random, Its incredibly unfortunate as you think you're smart sneaking past the monster to lock it in a room for some time or jumping past a grenade trip mine to save it for the monster only for said monster to just teleport out or past these obstacles

It doesn't feel like I'm punished for poor solutions or play, instead I'm just punished through no fault of my own.

We're also told "the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hates lights" so you assume using the generator gives you some free time to explore safely but it actually isn't affected by the light at all and again will just teleport near you in lit areas

in the beginning of the game or tutorial I should say we are taught to shoot locked doors but a large amount of doors that are locked up with chains can not actually be destroyed to gain access to so you end up wasting your resources

Couple that with 1 hit instant kills and an abundance of bandages which are now entirely useless because of the 1 hits and a single save room (so far in my 2 hours before dropping)

The game just comes down to spawning from your save room, rushing to an objective, spamming objects to find the solution, having the monster spawn through a hole near you to have him 1 hit kill only to repeat the above steps for another try

I was really hoping frictional could come back and be the power house they used to be but this isn't it

Very good, Very Fun, Addictive and a phenomenal remaster that stands out on its own from the original RE4 :)

ITS A BULLET BONANZA, FIRE EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT.

Genuinely a fantastic game though does have its issues, It's UI is awful, Crashes can be frequent or not happen at all for a day

DMZ is a phenominal addition to the game and with Activision giving up yearly releases for the first time so they can focus on this games lifespan and continue adding stuff is cool

No ultrawide support and it's not the typical hud doesn't fit, it's literal black bars. awful stuttering and comically bad frame rate and timing.

Wait before purchasing please, don't see the "10/10 and omg masterpiece" reviews and buy like I did, I waited for reviews and bought it and am pretty disappointed
