Really didn't seem like this was something possible to pull off but they really did it.

I could go on for hours about how good the original is and what makes it so special, but I'll just give a rundown of what makes this version great and where it falls flat.

- The characterization of James and the other Silent Hill inhabitants is nothing short of amazing. I love the off-kilter and strange voice acting of the 2001 original, but it's really cool to see how it plays out differently here. I don't think it's better or worse, just different, like a retelling. Pretty much all the lines are retained one to one, but now there's a bit more cohesion in the direction.

- Visually looks amazing. Despite the maps being rearranged, I could recognize where I was instantly because of how faithfully each area was made. The level of detail is honestly insane.

- Combat is very engaging and tense. I played on hard and got my ass beat a fair amount of times before I got the hang of things. It can get a bit repetitive, but that's honestly just the nature of all Silent Hill games in terms of combat.

- The bosses were all really cool and were all revamped but still retained the exact same essence as the original. None of them were as drastic as the Resident Evil Remake changes.

- Everything down to the little easter eggs and hidden scares from the original are all back in some form. Sometimes it could feel a bit silly, like the game is going through a greatest hits of best scary moments in Silent Hill, but ultimately I'm happier they're in the game rather than not.

- Remixed puzzles are really engaging and I'm glad puzzle difficulty is back.

- Exploring is very fun and satisfying, especially with the game world being seamless

Here's some things I didn't like.

- Lines aren't always delivered with as much impact as the original, namely the final letter. This goes both ways though, some line reads I like better than the original, and some I think are worse.

- Some of the music tracks, while wonderfully produced, lose some of the original grit or charm. The mixing also seems to be off because I feel like it's way too quiet. I think the ambient tracks are very good, and sometimes even straight from the original, but you just can't hear it as well. It's almost like they made the music seem like it's inside the game world, which was likely intentional, but I don't know how well it always works. Some tracks are also swapped around or replaced by new ones where I feel the original set the tone better. I think the worst offender is when complete silence is replaced by music in the remake. A lot of times, silence was just as eerie as the cacophony of horrific sounds that surround you in the original game.

- Cutscenes feel a little jank sometimes. There's little transition between them and they sort of just happen abruptly.

- Performance can vary. Ultimately I had pretty good performance when I tweaked my settings and used a guide, but it can be a little rough when trying to figure it out.

A wonderfully intuitive program that even a lazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like me has an easy time learning and working with. Has tons of updates and support from both the community and the developers with a lot of quality of life changes to make both coding and working within the interface as streamlined as possible. Ignore the review bomb started by people who think protesting developers that reduce the diameter of a female character’s ass by 1 centimeter makes them a martyr.

Really short small indie game that you should check out if you have 100 or 200 or 300 or 400 or 500 hours to spare or so. :)

A rare example of a survival game that doesn't feel like an extremely tedious job with endless upkeep and maintenance. Also lets you explode aphids so that's cool.

One of the only roguelikes to strike a perfect balance between narrative and extreme replayability without compromising either of the two.

Everything you loved about LISA and more in this DLC.

More enemies, more moves, but you sure as hell aren't making new friends as the last girl on Earth.

Although it's much shorter, it proved to be a hell of a lot more challenging, pretty much every enemy you fight feels like a boss. All the questions you had from the original are answered and not to mention the game comes back with an even better OST.

A must buy for those who enjoyed the original.

LISA was a game I didn't expect much from, I bought it for 4.99 and thought I wouldn't have more than 2 to 3 hours in it.
Boy was I wrong.

LISA is a game filled with dark humor and memorable characters. I've explored every single thing possible in this game and I plan to do a third playthrough not only to 100% this game, but also to extend my time in this amazing world and change up the possiblities as 1 playthrough can vary a lot from another. The game also comes with a 'Painful' difficulty which does a lot more than just give enemies more health. Painful mode gives you a new ending which adds more to the story, new enemies, and tougher bosses. Oh, and the game has a kickass soundtrack. With 30+ different companions all with their own personality, hard decisions which can sometimes result in permanently losing your best abilities, companions, or items, and an engaging storyline, LISA has brought itself up to one of my favorite singleplayer games of all time.

I'd recommend picking up this game now as the next installment is coming this summer.
You won't regret it.

Pros:
- Great Story
- Tons of variety
- Lots of items
- A lot of unique companions
- Vast world to explore
- Lots of secrets and achievements
- Memorable Characters
- A hard mode that actually changes gameplay
- Great Soundtrack
- Fun turn based combat

Cons:
- Controls are a bit unclear at first
