Really enjoyed the game. Took me about 8 hours to finish it according to Steam. The worst of it will be placement of the checkpoints, it makes some walks annoyingly long but I think it's supposed to accentuate the old school feeling of the game.

The actual presentation is awesome, the graphics actually add a lot by adding very little. You are given sometimes just the absolute minimum amount of information, which is enough to keep the tension high, and the suspense built. The art style is awesome, loved it. Great game, I recommend.

So far the game has me hooked and the further I play into it the deeper its hooks get. The more I further I get the more there is to discover. I'm only 2 dojos down but I recommend the game so far.

EDIT AFTER MORE TIME PLAYED

I had to change my review for this game after a lot more time played. The game is super repetitive and doesn't seem to be getting any better. From my experience so far, there isn't any sort of "two versions of the game" thing like Pokemon does, so every Temtem is available to everyone and getting Temtem isn't all that hard, so everyone uses the same Temtem. No reason to not us the best meta Temtem. The game is quite a bit of a grind and the travel system needs a lot of work. You make a bit of progress along the path, then have to turn around and go all the way back to town to heal, then walk all the way back, get a few trainers out of the way, rinse and repeat until you've made it all the way through. You do this along every path, the entire game. The money system is out of control also. Something that seems like a no brainer in a game like this, the ability to customize your cosmetics, is priced out for the vast majority of players until you have time to grind an absurd amount to get the amount of money needed to purchase just cosmetics.

Until they make some quality of life changes to this game, and make some of the Temtem unavailable outside of trading I don't believe this is a game I will be playing anymore.

For Honor is a game that you love to hate. First and foremost, you should understand that For Honor is a fighting game much in the same vein as Tekken or Street Fighter, but it is a sort of evolution of the fighting genre. Each character has their own personality and moveset, and the key to being good at this game is learning each characters quirks, moveset, and players tendency toward using that character. Second, you should know that the game has had a pretty massive update since release where they completely reworked a lot of aspects of the combat system. The original iteration lead to a lot of issues at the higher levels, and completely gimped the lower levels and that lead to a lot of negative reviews, which still haunt the game today. Obviously, and this is a stepping stone for all games in the fighting genre, learning each characters quirks and moveset takes practice and experience so it can be off-putting for new comers, as they are still fresh and don't understand why that Centurion is constantly kicking them, and then punching them and stabbing them on the ground, or why that Orochi is constantly light spamming. You just gotta keep doing it until you get it the hang of how fighting each character feels. There are certain balance issues, which there always will be, but they aren't game breaking.

I highly recommend this game, and if you've ever enjoyed fighting games on consoles and miss being able to play them on PC, I highly recommend you give this game a go as it will fulfill that itch.

No, I do not recommend this game. I bought this game way back when it first hit steam but my PC wasn't able to run it. I never returned to it, but with this pandemic and me having way to much idle time, I finally decided to go back and play this game. Wow is it ♥♥♥♥. I wasn't even able to make it past the first area before I decided I didn't want to play this anymore. The combat and weapons are a joke, the combat system is terrible. The destruction aspect was cool I guess, but it isn't anywhere near the kind of cool I wanted it to have. Just throw a couple of IEDs onto the main supports and blam, you're done. Rinse and repeat ad infinatum. The enemies literally will spawn out of no where, and one mission was supposed to be a driving mission, my vehicle was destroyed by the fleet of enemy trucks that spawn which creates more of a bumper cars simulator, if all the people in the bumper cars were all targetting you specifically at all times. After you are forced out of the vehicle, you enter into what is arguably one of the absolute worst instances of video game design I'm probably ever encountered, where you are STILL being hunted by everyone in the trucks trying to run you over, but they are all crashing into each other in an attempt to get to you, meanwhile, you can't outrun them or anything, so you are perpetually sent flying everytime one hits you, but that DOESN'T kill you, so your guy just stands up, and you continue about your way, except for of course you are now surrounded by a fleet of trucks trying to kill you, but they can't do it because they are just crashing into each other. If you DO manage to find another vehicle to enter, you won't be able to get in, because the game doesn't animation lock you into the vehicle entrance animation, so you just immediately get ran over by one of the pursuers as you attempt to enter the vehicle, and we are back inside of the swarm of trucks again. It's terrible.

Hunt is a great game. I've owned it the entire time its been on early release, bought it as soon as it came out I was so excited, and I have a fairly strict no early access rule. I've seen the game change many, many times throughout the course of the development, and its always been for the better. The current incarnation of the game is just fine, IMO the best its ever been. Plenty of people have complaints about the current state of the game, and I don't agree with them on most. Any issues they do have are in my opinion minor, and not anything you should take into consideration when deciding the purchase the game. The game is great, and you'll very much enjoy it.

This game is phenominal besides the whole nobody-plays-it-thing. Supposedly the developers are working on a free-to-play version that will hopefully invigorate the player base, which I am anxiously looking forward to.
