Did not expect to like this as much as I did but it has some real charm even if it's jamming mechanics aren't for me, otherwise the weapons feel great to use, there was a lot of thought put into the story & lore, the over the top gore personally is not for me despite having grown up with this stuff, there's no middle ground it's either off or on. I only wish there were more decorations & textures to help spruce things up a bit. The levels are kind of bland but this shouldn't matter as much if you focus on improving and adding more texture to diversify the look of the environments and perhaps even adding some flat decorations would be a nice touch. For textures I'd recommend in the future making tall textures of existing short textures, it'll make things pop out more and look less ugly.

Normally I wouldn't focus on this but the opening area is a nice touch with all those fallen demons and uhh monoliths with candles in them? Anyway point being because of the lack of decoration in the later levels everything looks kind of bland as a result. Regardless the game felt fun to play and even despite it's flaws & I love the divinity system, I would recommend picking it up if you are looking for something different to play, it definitely adds a lot more flavor to the table than Wolfenstein 3D did which seems 1 of many inspirations for this game and without hit-scanners and that's a huge win in my books.

Early Access Review
I've tried to play & enjoy this game time & time again, but honestly the hardcore aspects of the game are just not simply for me, in fact I think I am sick of all survival games where I'm constantly reminded to eat/drink/bandage wounds and so on, I just want to enjoy the game without having to worry about that sort of stuff & if you like that good for you but overall not for me & if you dislike survival mechanics its not for you either.

Extraneum is an absolutely adorable 2D shooter with 3D environments, and I would call it a Wolf 3D-like, but it would be doing a great disservice. This is so much more than Wolf 3D, with its choices for level design being more stylistic, but don't be fooled; it looks better visually with height variation in ceilings. Far gone are the days where you have to put up with annoying hitscanners playing ping pong with your health; the game tries its best by giving you non-cheesy enemies.

While I'm sure that having levels be almost entirely flat with some slight floor dips might seem boring for some (except the few levels with actual height variation), all levels are themed, with the first episode seemingly more city-like with some more industrial-like areas, the 2nd featuring suburbs and brown-like texturing (no, not that kind of texture), and the 3rd follows a more lab-like theming; I mean, the game even has a moving train level like what? That's so cool and such a nice break from the norm, the secrets are also accessed by finding secret items, which encourages exploration, neat!

But if I had to pick favourites, it would be 1-A, 1-3 (favourite music, btw), 1-5, 1-6, 2-4, 2-5, 2-A, 3-1, 3-A, 3-3, 3-4 (flows really nicely), 3-6. As you can see, I like a lot of the levels, some more than others, and that's a good thing. It's really hard for me to find favourite maps these days, but all of these stuck out to me as being very fun. I will make a note that the 2nd boss is, uh, almost a cakewalk.

Extraneum also offers a nice minimap on the HUD, which you can zoom in/out and enlarge. Speaking of the HUD, you can actually scale the HUD size, a big plus and something all games should strive for. As someone who also plays on a console, which Extraneum is unfortunately not available on, sometimes the HUD is too small, and I am sitting from a distance playing. It's just horrible when you can't see anything.

Into the Dark is a campaign expansion for The Riftbreaker that adds a new biome, more weapon/tower variety and a new challenge for players to progress through. When it comes to the new biome it is definitely unique much more so than the previous biomes, it will have you thinking how you are going to plan out a base, how you are going to create a path to ambush the unfortunate local fauna who come to attack your base oh yeah at the time of release they launched a free update, you can actually use the entirely new trap system to accomplish this too, just don't forget to reset all your traps after they are destroyed.

You may want to take some time craft some weapons in the base game first, maybe explore 1 or 2 other biomes get some additional resources and have at least blue tier weapons, you are going to need them.

My recommendation is to buy this considering how different this biome was to how I expected, with a game like this you definitely what the new biomes to all have unique aspects to them, oh and if you want the game to grow even further this is made by a small independent team based in Poland and they keep delivering some awesome content, buy the DLC.

First off I would like to say I love the art style of the game, I was a huge fan of it and I was a little iffy about buying it because I am not a good strategist, I couldn't see myself progressing or being able to complete the game in any timely manner, regardless of that I decided to try it out that brings me to the point.

This game seems to rely on you wisely using your time which you have limited across several days, unfortunately I was too slow on that front and ended up losing the first potion competition which was expected like I said I'm not particularly great at strategy, I cannot stress enough the fact of how much of a noob I am, I think this game could definitely benefit from a mode which allows you to progress at your own pace, this does not mean allowing everything to finish in under 1 time slot, it means being able to participate in game events at your own pace, even on day 1 if the player chooses, the scripted events in this game may not allow for this.

So, 1 of my thoughts I had here is that there may be a predetermined strategy to everything you do therefore it may limit your outcomes, if you want the best outcome you are better off spending some time to think about your next few moves, lose a few times to understand exactly what it is you need to be doing or looking up a guide for it, I will admit the fact that I thought you may just have to use a single strategy or 2 turned me off from the game it made me think it was repetitive and not in the best way or not in the most satisfying way

I think if you would like to try this you should absolutely give it a chance but just remember to use your time wisely, do not waste time going back and fourth like I did, fantastic looking game with great art, I am a dumb player.

You know, here I am wondering if all these guys are just treating me like their sugar daddy and it turns out they are but here I am left wondering, when are they going to pay millions of dollars to send me on some all expenses paid trip to some fancy restaurant and why am I the only 1 working on myself while these guys are just sitting around doing whatever it is animal-humans do. I give them all my talk, pokes, gifts and all the dates I can afford and that still not enough for my multiple timing self.

To summarise it, all of the guys you date here are broke, go ahead and give it a try and you will evoke an animal curse just like this bad rhyme will provoke the comments section, this is a bloke signing out 'ave a good one.
