Since this game is almost a decade old at this point, I wanted to do an honest review of the game. This game I actually bought around release. Such an unknown little title, it really has such an aura that honestly sadly I don't think any game ever really got right. It's simple and modest. The pixel art isn't grand, but it's beautiful in it's simplicity. The management of the game is nice and it's arcade feeling of mushing is just awesome.

This game came out when I was 14. I am 22 now. I remember this game very fondly.
When I was a kid I was in love with Alaska and the Iditarod. I loved the Balto movies.
Since this game, there has never been anything like it even in the same breath.
I cannot name a dog mushing game other than this one.

A game that never was re-released, remastered, ported, or even had a sequel: filled a spot in my heart forever. I would leave this game on, not just because of idling, but I would genuinely play it on and off whenever I wasn't doing something else. Coming home to find it still running and playing the menu music or the kennel music was comforting for someone who maybe wasn't growing up so well. Dog Sled Saga was a little bit of an escape for me at the time, ready to greet me when I got home from school.

Although I've moved onto other interests, I will always remember this game.
My playtime was a joke to some, but I didn't do this because I only thought it was funny, I really wanted to be the best musher my 14 year old suburbian kid brain could be in my own eyes. This game was memorable for me, hopefully it will be for you too. Thanks guys.

I've seen things you Uncle Dane fans wouldn't believe... I've worn item sets with actual benefits and server plug-ins that banned the Croc-o-style Kit... I watched as Conga flooded the servers upon it's release, the MVM trailer when it first came out, and we watched as Love & War played with our heartstrings. When trade servers were actually used, when you had to use the trading menu, back when "buds" were a currency. Dupes / dirty items, TF2 bronies (the most sizeable community of them, and gone now), no trading bots insight. The Saxxy Awards and Jerma & Ster making their starts, Kitty0706, DasBoSchitt, and Rubberfruit. Back when promotional updates were abundant and might've promoted games we never would've played without it, and back when "Head" and "Misc" slots were a thing and not "Cosmetic" slots. Demopan, flying scouts and crazy legs. Spelled items were new and nobody knew it was worth anything. Low crafts were sought after. OG Valve Quickplay and Idling for items / hats. Smissmas presents on maps and paint cans / tour of duty tickets being found in the Stockings. Haunted Halloween Gifts before the gargoyles, and Scream Fortress being so hyped for. Pyrovision being a big thing and not a meme. Replay actually working. Back when the old taunt icons were a thing and you had to equip it in your action slot. The Overwatch VS. TF2 debacle and TF2's relatively first bad update (End of the Line). Minecraft, pokemon, and zelda trade server maps. I remember when the Sandman (Sandman + Gullotine combo died with it) and Ambassador were "viable" weapons, when combo pyro was new and flashy and good, when players didn't know what a Shounic or Bad Weapon Academy was. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain...
