It's great except one very annoying thing that happens late game.

I'm at the point where it seems like there's nowhere to go, and every game session becomes me just exploring and back tracking to find what I missed, so I can progress. This is now the third time I've reached one of these points, and it just takes so long to get around that I absolutely dread opening the game now(There's one dreamer to go). If the markers let me use text like "vertical black thing" or "key" or this or that, then it'd be much better, but I have to remember or write things down or look up a map(which is essentially cheating). I just wish it was more intuitive than that.

Ideally, you could bring up the map with an item or ability selected, and it would highlight areas on the map that the item can get you past. A casual gamer feature? Sure, but you could justify it in lore that this guy you're controlling has great memory.

So, I hop on and go to an area where the map corridor is open and then go "Oh yeah, I can't get past this because of X or Y". Then onto the next open corridor a while later and "Oh yeah, this one has this thing. can't go here". And this is what my play sessions are now like. The game went from amazing to downright soul-sucking, and I have no inclination to continue to beat it now. I love the challenging content--the stronger bosses, but this isn't challenging now. It's just pixel searching areas I've been to a million times.

I highly recommend this game. The survival mode places you in a wintery wilderness where you must respect nature in order to survive. It definitely feels like a desperate fight for a while, but if you have patience you start to acquire a graceful motion with the ebb and flow of it all and it's very satisfying. You will never 'beat' nature in this game if you see it as some boss to overcome. Instead you find yourself stepping into a sort of elegant dance with it and are rewarded with a sublime harmony that reminds you what it's like to be a young gamer, full of wonder and awe. Oh and the bears will ♥♥♥♥ you up so watch out lol

Amazing experience. Gives me an 'Event Horizon under water' vibe but it's so much more than that.
