The Forest has become one of those classic sandbox survival games which really define the genre.
There's no real "gimick" to try and trick people into buying an empty and soulless copy paste survival game.
It's simply a solid survival game with added horror and story.

Eat the wrong pill.
Explode.

Wooowweee. Good thing they're removing the scary blood and skulls while the netcode is still complete trash and all the new operators are unbalanced as ♥♥♥♥. Frost shot me in the crotch (♥♥♥♥) the other day and that counted as a headshot. That has happened 2 times, from frost, on two different ocassions. This game is a disgusting shell of what it used to be because it's run by the incompetents at Ubisoft bowing to the greedy ♥♥♥♥♥ at Activision.

Pretty good cards. Maybe even too good. I'd expect some balancing in the future. In response to WITNESS ME who disabled his comments. Try learning how to read. I heard it's really helpful with lots of things including making purchases.

The games main focus is user created content. It has a brilliant level editor and great mod integration. Now that the game is finally out and the mods won't be broken constantly you should start to see a lot more mods and maps. The campaign is more of an homage to the predecessor and a demo for what you can do with the level editor (you can make every level you see in the campaign in the level editor).

A lot of the dislikes are from people who are trying to run a resource demanding game on their patatos. The optimization is fine and in fact I'm playing right now, blowing up massive structures, etc, etc. So if you don't have a potato, buy the game. If you do have a potato and decide to buy it anyway, don't complain when your potato gets baked.
