Shinji Mikami should have the same reputation as Hideo Kojima when he's making a game.
Shinji Mikami is the best horror/action/survival director the gaming industry has ever met IMO. Besides that i think not many people in the world recognize his work as they should have.

-Gameplay
The Evil Within besides horror/action/survival gamemodes it also introduces stealth into its gameplay. Ammo management is very important element in the game. Ammo Management makes the gameplay a bit strategic imo, because i kept choosing to avoid fighting enemies in order to keep my ammo and search for alternative ways to reach my goal. Also if enemies spot me, i kept shooting enemies on the legs in order to kill them with melee in order to save ammo.

Why do i mention all of this? Because i think this is the smartest way of the game telling you to try alternative approches in the gameplay by simply rewarding you of ammo.Using your ammo wisely in order to survive in difficult situations makes the whole survival unique. It's not just a bland action/zombie game where you get infinite ammo and you just killing enemies getting bored in the first 2 hours. It is the definition of survival gamemode because it forces you to run, fight with melee, stealth kill enemies while trying to reserve as much ammo as you can.

-Story
The mystery of the story is extremely intense, i was like: "What the f is going on here". Game does not explain you anything because main character is indeed don't know what the f is going on. You collect the lore piece by piece as you continue playing the game keeping the mystery intact. Furthermore what i disliked about the story is the fact when the game (possible spoilers) Explains things about the story and revealing everything in DLCs, lore must be explained in the base game and DLC should work as a "fill-up" to the story. Making DLCs must play in order to understand what's going on in the base game is a huge mistake IMO.

Other negatives are the FOV and FPS:
FOV is set to ~60 (or less) for unknown reason.
Fullscreen have issues in new systems, you'll have to use "+r_swapinterval 0" command in your steam launch options in order to get decent FPS.
Also use this command "+com_skipintrovideo 1" to skip the unskipable intro.

I enjoyed the game and i recommend and i hope this unique Action/Horror/Survival Gamemode will continue to exist even after Shinji Mikami retires.

Give this studio a budget and they will propably create GOTY worth material!

TL;DR
If you are a guy who dislikes long conversation story games, a guy who skips all cutscenes then stop reading this review and avoid this game right away. This game has extraordinary story dialog details but Graphics, animations look like "inde-game" assets because of lack of budget.

The game is propably the best double A(AA) game i ever played in terms of story. The writing(dialogs) is so impressive in detail, the voice acting is so well performed i was so impressed receiveing this kind of detail from an almost unknown studio to me. The overall main quest is something of the ordinary but how they deliver the story to the player is the awesome thing.

Side quests are mini enjoyable stories, i sat back and relaxed like it's a season of episodes. The game from start to finish have incredible conversations about the main plot, side plot explaining everything in detail. It matters who you have in your party, team of your members react when a discussion involves a topic of their expertise.

I was suprised by the game's true RP elements. If you have high vigor you can climb your way in, if you are the sneaky type you can sneak in, if you level up science you can blow the wall to get in a place you got to go. Don't expect the triple A experiece of those things, or anything major game changing, they just exist in gameplay and it's awesome.

Now everything else is not exactly bad, from my point of view Studio tried to deliver an enjoyable combat and beautiful graphics, but in my opinion they had no budget to make it fully work. Graphics are very beautiful but since it's not an AAA experience, you'll always have a feeling that they look like an "inde-game" graphics. This is not a negative thing for me because i mostly play games for the story but just refering to you to know what to expect.

The only REAL negative this game has is combat, they really tried to deliver a suitable combat, but lack of good animations makes this combat system bad. I played the game on Extreme difficulty, i really didn't have any problem at all with any enemy or boss, the problem is not the difficulty. The problem is animations' synchronization are a bit off, player attack animation often don't hit the enemy even if it's locked in, also there are many times you can't figure when an enemy is attacking because the animation is not exactly obvious to the eye. Combat is sad experience but in the end you get used to it and it's forgivable when they deliver such a story.

The game is well deserved 7/10 and i really wanna know how much they will improve their sequel.

You need to install Gaming Services for windows in order to play this game. I know this is not an issue for 99% of players who play this game but for the 1% like me, i dislike installing microsoft apps in my pc, when those apps are forcing me to accept in terms to share my pc information about my OS version of my system,my games and other stuff. Since it's on steam, let steam overlay do the work and not your broken xbox gaming overlay for windows.

Just because 99.9% of population are naive and they giving their information and cookies on the internet for free without knowing the risks, doesn't mean is the logical thing to do.

In Ghost of Tsushima you play as samurai who fights against Mongol invasion. Samurai have a code of honor who fight their opponents fair, face-to-face, giving their rival fair chances in duel/battle. Mongols were conquerors who used any unethical method to win their fights. Jin Sakai one of the few samurai survivors had to think new ways to defeat his foes.

Story
The story, the cutscenes are awesome. Dialogues are done right. There isn't any modern world ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in dialogues. In game Characters are humble, no ego in their dialogues, voice acting is superb, expressing their feelings totally gets you in the character's shoes. Story is done right, i loved the cutscenes they didn't make me lose interest or cringe, quite the opposite, they kept me focused. Many of the conversations gave me food for thought.

Graphics
"ScreenShot Simulator". I think it's the most beautiful graphics i ever seen in a game until now, i used to stop and capture screenshot very often. The lighting, the flowers, the views, the night, are ablsolutely amazingly beautiful. I coudn't get enough of these graphics.

Performance
Performance issues exists, many people complain about them, so think carefully before buying it, i personally didn't meet any crashes. I only noticed FPS drops after playing 2+ hours Continuously but a game restart was fixing it.

Gameplay has two sides:
Fight and Stealth.
I'm gonna speak for the fight style first. If you played Sleeping Dogs Shadow of war you'll be most familiar with, but it αλσο has the parry and the perfect parry mechanic which makes the game a bit more unique than those games above. Parry and perfect parry style suits perfectly for this game, i feel they shouldn't add any of the other styles they implement in the game. (that's my opinion tho) I played the game from start to end reavealing myself in the middle of the enemies and waiting them to attack me, so i can perfect parry or dodge their attacks. I think it's the most Samurai way of dealing with the enemies and gain adrenaline when reading their attacks and total satisfaction after you parry them.

Stealth
Stealth is total crap. it's a gameplay mechanic EXACTLY like in Assassin's Creed. Everything Assassin's Creed has to offer as stealth, ghost of Tsushima offers it too but somehow in a WORSE way. If by a chance you love the fake stealth Assassin's Creed offers then you'll like this stealth mechanic in this game too. I BY THE WAY DON'T LIKE IT. There were many times where i killed a group of enemies and some enemies 5 meter away didn't even hear me or see me.

DLC
Iki Island DLC is a total cringe. You arrive on Iki island you are forced to drink a "poison" and you start hallucinating. You see visions you don't want to etc. That is a well known story crap recipe made by many games. I forced myself playing DLC and it only was getting worse. Dialogues were a bit off and a bit boring. It looked to me that not the same person who made the Base story, made this DLC. BUT it had an enjoyable last boss fight.

LEGENDS Mode.
Legends mode reminds me a bit of the raid mode in Resident Evil Revelations. You play missions and farm better gear while enjoying your way of playstyle. 4 Classes to choose and much more killing to do if you love the game.
Legends mode is totally awesome, i played a bit and i totally enjoyed it. Beautiful ideas and plenty of contect to play especially if you have friends.

In few words the game is amazing, you should definitely give it a try.

The game isn't good, I sadly play this game because a friend of mine does not want to play anything else, it was his first game and he does not want to learn any other MP game out there.
The game is totally unbalanced, you have to unlock players for some unknown reason and they changed champion abilities in order to be able to do more damage with less actual skill.
Battle passes are just cringe i won't talk about them.

They found out they can't compete in competitive scene, so they made this game an actual cash grab while it lasts.

This game shows how few people actually appreciated Gwent.

This is actually pure Gwent gameplay, you start with a pre-build op deck and you play gwent. You need to farm experience in order to get more overpower spells or passive abilities. The farming is being done by playing and losing obviously because at the start you're not powerful enough.
Enemies are totally unforgiving and that's the point of this game, you need to outsmart them with the cards you got. It's doable with every deck you play.

The only con for me is you can't have a custom deck.

An excellent story writing game, amazing movie-like cinematics where you can sit back and watch the story.
Mature dialogues with logic explainations.
Good job to "Hangar13" for the beatiful graphics on this version.
I noticed some dialogue changes from the original Mafia which i have to play the OG version to figure out if it's bad or good.
I liked the game a lot, i recommend.

P.S Reminds me a bit the movie "GoodFellas (1990)"

If you like stealth games, or you are FPS lover, Dishonored (1 & 2) is a game you must not miss.
Just finished my non-lethal, no power run and it was a blast, there is always a stealth way to bypass enemies, if you are observant enough.
Story is decent nothing major.
Gameplay is fun on both approches.
Quick-Saving makes the game casual, which is a good thing, you can try many ways to reach your destination.

If you're looking at the reviews to get an opinion on this game before buying it, you'll get a bit confused.
The game overall is fantastic, the music is amazing, dialogues are super detailed and the atmosphere is suitable perfectly for the environment of the game. The only negative is the combat, true. As you can see the studio is not a billion dollar studio, it's a small company who tried their best to deliver a great game and they succeed.

So, if you are a gamer who is not interested to read dialogues for hours in order to learn the story, -like watching a serie of episodes in a movie platform- then stay away from this game totally. Otherwise if reading is your thing, then you'll most likely like this game. Combat is bad but, believe me noone forces you to play on hard difficulty like i did and if you play on lower difficulties then the combat is a joke especially on easy and it won't be a problem at all to your experience.

It pains me to see smaller studios getting negative reviews on a well executed product like this.

Nioh's identity is misled imho by the community, it's not a "souls like" game, it's a Hack and Slash with "souls-like" elements. Every area has shrines as checkpoints and a boss to defeat as "souls-like" games have, but the gamestyle is totally Hack and slash element. Also Co-oP works same as "souls-like".
The Nioh's beggining is the most frustrating thing in the game, you start with zero combos and skills, your only option to defeat enemies is to pick up a weapon and use 'quick/heavy' attack on the enemy. If you manage to defeat the first area (which by the way is way more easier than Nioh 1) then you'll actually start playing the game. Weapon Proficiency is key to enjoy the game, because you start unlocking skills which then you can combine them to achieve high damage combos.
I'm tonfa main, in Nioh 2 i also loved fists and Switchglaive weapons for their variety of combos, they're amazing. You've got variety of weapons and playstyle to choose and every weapon has it's own skills and abilities. Nioh is a gear-level based game so you gotta change your gear a lot especially at the start. If you find any level gear higher than yours it's propably worth equipping it. You can speedrun your areas to the boss or you can farm enemies in order to farm higher lever gear.

I loved the game but it has 3 big thumbs down things for me:
1. NG+2 (Deam of the Demon)
Every mode in Nioh 2 is totally balanced expect NG+2. The boss life difference between NG+1 and NG+2 is the worst unbalanced thing i ever experienced in a game as far as i remember. I was fighting Mezuki with Lvl160+7 Gear and it was the worst unbalanced nightmare. I forced to leave the mission and use the gear i got from NG+2 in order to have a chance.
My point is: NG+1 DOES NOT prepare you for NG+2 at all! The difference is huge, i have played all the way to the "Dream of the Nioh" (NG+4) and i haven't meet anything more unbalanced other than NG+1,NG+2 difference. Anyway i believe NG+2 needs a minor nerf on its two starting areas.
2. Character without voice.
Seriously bring back a protagonist with a voice and a desire, i didn't like the story a lot because the protagonist doesn't talk at all. Seriously? You can make a character who can be customized by the player WHO CAN TALK.
A non-talking character was a dissapointment for me.
3. Guardian Spirits.
I'm a tonfa main player and i love playing with my weapons, in Nioh 1 i could use Guardian Spirits to enchance my weapons so i could extra damage with my combos, in Nioh 2 the guardian spirit ability changes your character's form into Yokai. In General it is not a bad thing because you can deal tons of damage with that form, but it's not my playstyle. I literally entered in Yokai form less than 20 times because i simply hated it. Bring back the old guardian spirits or at least give us a choice on how we wanna use our guarding ability skill, Weapon enchance or Yokai form.

Despite the few negatives, Nioh is a good game, i recommend.
