Götterdämmerung is the ultimate Hearts of Iron IV DLC, especially if you enjoy alternative history. It gives Germany a chance to shine not just as a military power but as a beacon of advanced technological ingenuity. The inclusion of Wunderwaffe—like experimental aircraft, rockets, and even game-changing superweapons—adds an incredible layer of depth to your strategy. The thrill of outpacing the world with cutting-edge research while steering Germany toward an ambitious new destiny is unmatched.

The DLC doesn’t just give you toys to play with; it challenges you to make bold decisions that shape the narrative. Whether you’re dominating the skies, perfecting advanced tanks, or unveiling futuristic strategies, it feels like you’re crafting a world where technological brilliance defines the outcome.

Paradox’s DLC policy? Still awful. But Götterdämmerung makes up for it with sheer quality. It’s the most fun I’ve had in HoI4, and it feels like a true game-changer for fans of Germany’s alternate timelines.

If you’ve ever wanted to rewrite history with Germany at the forefront of innovation and strategy, this DLC is an absolute must. Advanced tech, bold gameplay, and endless replayability—what more could you want?

Hearts of Iron IV is a masterpiece for fans of strategy and history, and the Götterdämmerung DLC elevates it to incredible heights. As someone who enjoys exploring alternative history, playing as Germany is especially rewarding. The DLC adds so much depth, letting you craft a story of resilience, innovation, and strategic brilliance. Whether you're rewriting history to bring prosperity or reshaping geopolitics entirely, the possibilities are endless.

The only sour note is Paradox’s DLC policy, which feels like a relentless cash grab. It’s frustrating to see such incredible content locked behind countless expansions. That said, Götterdämmerung is a shining gem among them—so well-crafted and immersive that it’s hard to stay mad.

If you’re into strategy games where you can emphasize the best of a nation’s potential and rewrite history on your terms, Hearts of Iron IV (and this DLC) is absolutely worth it.

Since this game also improved quite a bit since release and will continue to do so, I do think this game actually has more potential. This game treats you as an actual emperor because you have many ministers (very good AIs) working for you - They micromanage everything while you just oversee them from time to time. Very convenient. This can be boring from time to time. You can meddle those ministers to see what they are doing. You can change these ministers' orders. If you decide to micromanage everything, but DW2 lets you know, early on, that’s a terrible idea.

Being an emperor is fun! Good experience!

Excellent co-op game. It is like Left4Dead but with mining/digging, space, and aliens. The unique, best part of this game is its environments being truly randomly generated. Replayability is very high.

This game deserves 2019's most innovative gameplay award. It's reverse social media. You write kind letters to people who are struggling with problems. It's definitely an odd game but quiet zen and beautiful.

Pretty much the shining example of what a PC game should be, in my eyes. Awesome single-player campaign, and astoundingly deep, well-balanced, competitive team-based multiplayer. This is my only 10/10 on here, and will remain the only 10/10 short of another miracle of PC gaming.
