While Terraria and Minecraft are often compared and do have similarities, they appeal to different audiences. If you like combat and wish there were more quality of life features, play Terraria.

At the time of posting, I have 1752.36 hours on my Xbox, with all dlcs. I have played the game for >2 years, and here is what I have to say. I will update this review with all major releases (if I remember to)

- The game has had a rocky history. The quality of in game content is inconsistent.
- While the basic systems and some former paid content is free to play, a lot of the content currently is locked behind dlc.
- Some paid content is more than worth it, and some isn't.
- Disregard older reviews (>6 months) that speak negatively of the new player experience. Recent improvements have been made.
- Regard with discretion reviews that refer to "sunsetting" as a major issue. While it is still present, it is being reduced and slowly reverted by developers.

Destiny 2 content that I strongly recommend:

- The base game, which has perfect gunplay, good PvE and PvP experiences, and a very large amount of content.

Content that I recommend if it is on sale or you are sure that you enjoy the game (in order of release, not recommended purchase order):

- The Forsaken Pack, which has good weapons and endgame activities
- The Beyond Light Pack, which has good weapons and endgame activities
- The 30th Anniversary Pack, which has good weapons and a very good endgame activity. Wait for a deeper discount here
- The Witch Queen, which has very good campaign, weapons, endgame activities, and story
- The Witch Queen dungeon key, which has good weapons and very good endgame activities.
- The Lightfall dungeon key, which has very good weapons and endgame activities
- The Final Shape, which has very good campaign, weapons, subclasses, endgame activities and story. Learn a bit about the previous story of the series first.

Content you should not buy unless you are very dedicated to the game:

- The Shadowkeep Pack
- Lightfall
- Episode Echoes
- Episode Revenant (This comes free with The Final Shape, but it isn't even good anyway)

When starting out, play the base game to see if you enjoy it, then look to purchase dlc. As long as you understand the story leading up to it, definitely get The Final Shape first.
