You know it's a good game when the majority of mfs in the playerbase ignores the horrors revealed throughout the player's journey and instead simp for the violent schizophrenic girl with a hammer. I'm mfs.

10/10 would sever the connection to reality and go on a murderous rampage again

It's all fun and games until you dare try to raise a flag on Super Helldive on Automaton Planets and two galaxies worth of enemies drop on your head.

10/10 would experience the unspeakable horrors of war for Democracy again

Started playing the game because I saw that it got released for PS5 and the Switch and it looked really promising. Despite never having played a game with this kind of artstyle and story-telling before, I decided to give it a chance. And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I was not disappointed.

The game is incredibly adorable and it's really satisfying to play through the story. The story is in the big scheme of things quite simple but very well written and very effective. I also really enjoyed the gameplay and the grind for some items/spells. It's quite relaxing actually as it's not that big of a deal to farm a few enemies or locations in the game.
In terms of art style, it's also very well made. All the character and pet sprites look really good and the same thing can be said for the world and different areas of the game.
The music is also really good and fits very well with the game's tone and visuals. Pretty much the only problem I have with the music is that it's too loud in some cutscenes and that the combat music can get repetitive but that's where my criteria already ends.

Personally, I recommend playing on the hardest difficulty (Very Hard) if you have the patience and time. In this mode, enemies have different attack queues, have significantly more HP and deal a ton of damage but it's frankly the difficulty where overcoming a challenge or hard enemy feels the most satisfying. And if you really struggle with a boss, you can always easily change the difficulty in the ingame menu, so it's really accessible.
I haven't tried NG+ yet so I can't comment on it

I usually never write reviews because I don't really know what to write in them. But in this case, I fully recommend the game for anyone who thinks the game looks even slightly appealing. It really is a hidden gem of an rpg and one of my new top favorite games. I finished the game in 42h over the course of 6 days or so, which, if you do the math, makes me a very productive member of society. However, I never once got tired of playing the game, which frankly hasn't happened in a long time. The 34€ pricetag is kind of a turnoff but I think it's worth it. If you can, wait for a sale ofc.

10/10
