I'm mad this flew under my radar on release. My only major gripes are that there isn't much horizontal progression with your kit and with the large bone memorials being so sparse that you can teleport to, navigating the world can take a long time and be really repetitive, as well as the ending being rushed.
Otherwise this game has messed me up. Despite those cons I'm typing this with my face red and tears streaming. Overall one hell of a game

It's Jet Set Radio 3.
While BRC doesn't perfectly fit in the shoes left by JSR Future, what's here is really good stuff overall. Writing needs more polishing to be beyond decent and the earlier areas are only "pretty fun" compared to what BRC offers and grows into. Even with taking about 8.5 hours to beat (and a lot of that just me having a fun time messing around in The Pyramid) it's still damn worth the 40 bucks as I was having a good time constantly and might even go back for achievements and just messing around. If Reptile does something like make a DLC expansion or a sequel I'd be incredibly excited to see them improve.

It's a treat to have this game on Steam. While I haven't replayed it in around since 8 years back in High School, Yggdra Union is one hell of an SRPG mechanically and has a decently competent story and so far my opinions haven't changed too much. tl;dr is if you like SRPGs a lot then give YU a shot and enjoy 2000's moe-eyes commit warcrimes such as genociding a race.

The game's card & union systems make this game wildly complicated and even on the game's normal it's a hefty challenge if you don't play SRPGs often, even if it's a tone-down from the original GBA's difficulty funnily enough. You have only as many turns as cards, and you need to make them count. Your enjoyment of the card and union systems early on will be what really makes or break the game for you, but if you like the SRPG genre you'll likely be happy here as you go off and commit warcrimes.

There are a lot of smaller hiccups that can be a source of major frustration, especially for first playthroughs. Primarily with how you can long-term make the game weirdly more difficult due to not knowing which cards are super strong earlier, missing out on items you may not catch (the "EX" list from the pause menu is your friend for this btw), MVP bonus screw-ery, etc. The game wants you to replay it and some of these gripes feed into that, but it doesn't change that Sting shenanigans can be really frustrating.
You still have okay quality of life (the Steam version basically gives you a save-state and will auto-save every so often as well which I don't remember from the PSP version), and people are already writing guides on cards and advice on them. If you really need the help then you can probably just find old GameFAQs guides or something.

Big recommend overall if you like SRPGs and a lot of funny numbers, iffy for everyone else. Just don't expect YU to go easy on you despite the hefty amount of tutorials and gradual pace it introduces everything.
