Love this game. Fun college ball simulation which has many mods available. Deep recruiting, you can playcall your games and it has something satisfying to turn a low level college into a powerhouse and seeing your recruits develop into studs.
I also like checking what is going on in the leagues through the news page. I think it is very nice presented. The classic game score is fun too.
You can tell the developer has put a lot of love into this game. Right in the second i was thinking it would be cool to have custom images for bowls and trophies, to have them featured in your trophy room, a new patch comes out for doing exactly that.
For the future I would also love to see rivalries having their trophies as well. And an online mode would be great as well.

The game definetly scratches the offseason college football itch 😊

Game works very well on steam deck.

Waiver Draft makes the career more interesting. A lot of tiny improvements towards psf2023. As of right now, college is not 100% done yet. Yes, you can play a college career, but it is not quite there yet. But I am sure, Kerry will deliver soon.
Other than that...great modding community!

A football game, that allows you to play however you like. In my case...playing some bloodthirsty orcs...I am even able to let players look like orcs.

Orcs orcs orcs orcs orcs orcs orcs

EDIT: Steam Deck users can play this game perfectly fine. Touchscreen is good, as buttons are big enough. Also font size is perfectly fine.

Having the most fun in editing my own league. I actually didn't play a single season yet, but I played a fictional league back in 2021 for six or seven seasons. Which I enjoyed a lot.

If you like playcalling, it seems to be more intuitive than 2021 (not sure), I personally prefer CPU vs CPU, which is pretty enjoyable and entertaining to watch. With a big community there should be a lot possible in terms of online leagues. I hope some sort of multiplayer will be in a future iteration of the game (looking at a Blood Bowl like format).

This is a wonderful little football game. If you're looking for something special, you can give it a try.
But let me explain, what this game is not:

It is not a game with an expansive franchise mode.
The game comes with a draft, which is really barebones and a very improvised free agency. And salaries and trades aren't a thing. It is also not so much about setting up depthcharts. You can not play college seasons. The game has some restrictions in career play.

But...that is okay. For me the game excells in it's simplicity and the fact, that it let's you export everything into a csv file (Just not import everything during a career unfortunately). And yet, it keeps career long stats, it is even possible to look at every player, who ever played in your league. You can watch the highlights of every game of the entire season. For me, that is enough.

What I enjoy a lot, is to just watch the games being played out on the field in cpu vs cpu. The cpu isn't dumb and this makes for great games to watch. Games are fairly quick, stats are realistic in my opinion.

If you are someone who is able to work around a lot of the missing pieces with excel or whatever, then you will get a very good engine to show you the result of play. You could run your own training camps at the end of a season and start a new one with your updated stats. If you are capable of doing this to improve your own experience, then you might get the perfect game for you.

The way the game is presented is what I like the most. It feels right, the retro-look and feel to it, makes it very enjoyable for me.

Update 06/2019

Within the last updates, the moba version became some sort of a turn based combat thingy, which you can't disable/can't roll back to an old version of the game. This is pretty much killing it for me.

---------

I played in MOBA mode.

+ Player development

+ Hero progression/Player skills

+ Setting up strategies (needs improvement though)

+ moddable ... (most of the stuff via code, game would benefit from an ingame editor)

+ Many different tournaments throughout the season

+ Esports Club is updated regulary.

--------

- English...it's so bad it's actually insulting

- Static world (the simulated MOBA game doesn't evolve, no new heroes/ simulated patches over time, which would make the game more interesting from a strategic perspective)

- When you're on top, you only play to stay there and to amass money (no endgame objectives)

- Transfermarket: It's only there for you to sell players. Buying players are downgrades. Better players won't join, due to clubs not willing to transfer/players lack of interest. Super League caliber players are never available.

- Player has big advantages over AI teams: Pick/Ban order is preset (Player first P&B) and AI drafts by role, while the player can do priority picks due to being able to swap heroes, which the AI can't. I also shouldn't be able to adjust my skills to what my opponent has chosen.

- No insights over what is happening in other games, other leagues, other continents. Simply lack of immersion. It's also not possible to study opponents by watching their games.

- Leagues are preset. Most of the games are BO1. I wish there was an option to set up league rules. Also how many teams, maybe Franchising etc.

- Lots of things are unclear: Dragons in game, Skill development, etc.

- Some things are inconvinient: Confirming emails all the time, Dialogues with players that I can't click away.

- Money is earned way too easy. Two years in and I could buy every player.

- Game is sometimes restrictive where it actually doesn't have to or isn't clear enough about it. There is an unclear amount of skills each player can learn, for some more, for some less.

- Modding this game is a pain in the ***. Instead of providing a small editor ingame, where you can simply edit names and logos, you have to use unity and work with an asset written in 50% broken english and 50% asian letters.
Before modding was introduced, you could simply go into the the files and edit the .lua files with notepad++ to at least have the names you wanted.

----------------------

If this was a full release, I would downvote the game.
But I give it a thumbs up. It is in early access and many problems should be solved if the dev keeps improving the game. At it's core the game is great and has potential...and obviously, I had some fun with it.
