One of the best, if not THE best, of the genre.

I can't explain it but the balance between micromanagement and creativity is perfect. It isn't like a lot of sim games these days where the management is nowhere to be found and its purely about creativity, nor is it the limited decoration that everything looks the same. Its a great balance!

The management even goes as far as you being able to select specific jobs each staff member is required to do which can seriously optimize some bad practices, such as bedding not being changed fast enough :)

I'm not even finished with the tutorial yet and i've put 19+ hours* into the game and feel like I have so much more to go yet, and thats without just sandbox freeplay mode afterwards.
The progression system is fun with how you unlock items to use in your hotels, think achievements on steam which unlock items when completed to use across all hotels past and present, and some of them are incredibly difficult!

I really can't wait to see this games development as the game as it stands now is one of my favourite simulation games of all time (and i've played a lot of them lol) but with the clear passion you can tell that has gone into this game, I am super hopeful for great things.

*Disclaimer: Hours played in the tutorial for me is probably higher than most, as I tend not to play 3x speed which a lot of people do. I play standard play speed and enjoy the show lol

You can tell they learned a lot from the other games. This is almost perfection!

Would highly recommend to anyone who was on the fence about it :)

I'm really hoping their next game to be a Two Point Zoo.... please <3

Such a shame that a game with such huge potential is being let down by what I imagine is bad management.

No focus on story at all, we've had no updates for a long time, and not expecting anything major until 2025. They are doing monthly updates but all they do is add yet more microtransations. They are far from "Micro" too - costumes costing £20+ , Toolskins costing £10+ and other huge costly items.

By the way; you cant unlock any clothing in game at all, or pets. Its cash shop only, and they are adamant on that stance, never adding "free" to earn cosmetics.

The game is riddled with bugs and performance issues, to the point they had to disbled said expensive cash shop items as they were causing server crashes if you used them on the server.

All I can say is thank god Loftia is coming soon, as I dont think this game will last much longer if nothing changes.

You know its bad when they sell to DayBreak and you cheer at it in hope for improvement.
(Daybreak have a bad rep for those not in the know, within the EQ community)

I hope one day I get to change this review to positive and we see the game go in a better way :(

It needs some time to grow and cook, but so far the base game is fun. Its a typical builder survival, altho mechanically more akin to Valheim in how removing parts refunds the materials, meaning less punishment for misplacing items.
Food also works the same, you get buffs for eating rather than punished for not eating.
Sure there are some bugs here and there but nothing has stopped me playing yet, and hope that continues.

Weirdly says controller isnt supported on the store page, however controller works perfectly fine, and all UI elements change to match controller buttons etc; certain would say if you're put off because you play controller only, dont worry you can play perfectly fine.

Overall solid early access and look forward to seeing it grow!

Also love how I feel like a little South Park character, they're so freakin' adorable

Beautiful game, very much similar to Stonehearth style of game. Love it. I hope the devs continue to give love to this game :)

Fantastic game, although I would highly recommend playing with friends rather than alone. Makes it a lot more fun! - I wish the updates come quicker, but its still worth it at the point its at now.

Insanely addictive old-school MMO that is closer based to D&D rules/classes than other games you might be used to. Only really worth playing imo when a new TLP (Time Locked Progression) Server launches as the live servers are extremely top heavy (only max level chars).

One major downside to this game is something called "Krono" which is like Plex in EVE and WoW Tokens. However they are more like Plex in how they are a tradeable currency with real money value so there has been a lot of toxic people play the game to earn money from it; this means ruining a lot of the old school experience sadly.

However if you're bored of the new age MMOs, I stil highly recommend giving this one a try despite the Krono and farmers and if you can overlook the 2001 graphics.

(TLP requires a subscription, it isn't free to play like the main servers!)

(Also to note I have so many more 100's of hours played, but I used to play prior to it being on steam so it looks like my play count is lower. Played on and off since 2000 and coming back to TLP's)

Fantastic game to the series. Been a huge fan of Monster Hunter since I first played on PSP (Freedom Unite) and was worried about the quality of life improvements potentially making the game easier.

Well... It hasn't! It's improved the gameplay loop a lot and because of the huge open map with difficult to see routes, even the fireflies don't cheapen the gameplay; I would argue they are a must have to avoid getting lost!

All previous games were very linear with the maps and being only able to go one or two ways to and from each area, but this game there are multiple ways and even hidden shortcuts.

The combat feels very true to the series too which again I was worried about from stuff I'd read online. Even the moving while consuming potions doesn't feel like it cheapens it. Sometimes (such as antidote) the animation is so long (like 3x normal MH games) that even though you're moving, it feels pretty well balanced.

Such a great thought out game in the franchise and I hope we see more of it in future. I can't wait for Iceborne too!

We need monster hunter HD from now onwards, it would feel weird going back to 420p or whatever the old games were.

If you're a fan of the series this one isn't one to miss!

Edit: with the end of support closing; I really hope we see a sequel to the MHWorld games!
