I was enjoying this game.
Then you introduced REALLY annoying enemies that can't be killed with ranged attacks and my enjoyment plummeted immensely.

Edit:
Gave the game a try again after the balance update on 5/14/25.

The balance changes do not address the enemies that can only be killed by Melee attacks. Allow me to rant about my frustrations.

Having an enemy that endlessly spawns other enemies that can ONLY be killed with Melee is insane to me. I cannot tell you how many times I've had one of the "Spawner Drones" spawning a plethora of new enemies as I try not to get murdered by every other enemy in the room. Then as I kill the 20th enemy in a row I ask myself "When does this end" only to find out there was some "Spawner Drone" tucked away in a corner somewhere.

This becomes increasingly annoying when you have Elite Shield enemies, Shield Drones, Healing drones, and the STUPID AF enemies that force you to look at them that also can only be killed with Melee added into the mix that make the enemies it spawn effectively immortal.

Now you might say "Use the starting stealth to locate the spawner and kill them."
Except when I do this, It usually puts me in a situation where I'm surrounded and die instantly. Just had a run end because I tried to stealth kill a "Spawner Drone" and was immediately greeted by a void spider who blew up, and locked me in place while two of his melee friends ran train on me. On top of the fact that sometimes you will walk into a room that has 3 of the damn things, so killing 1 of the 3 at the start really doesn't do too much.

If Player movement was faster and I could kite enemies while I work to take out said "Spawner Drones" OR If they had some sort of Orb or something floating above them I could shoot to disable their range immunity shield, or some other meaningful way I could interact with them other than walk up and hit the Melee button that would feel WAY better.

The game is a first person shooter. Having enemies that require Melee to defeat with no other alternative just does not make sense to me. Especially when the Melee does not feel very good to use. I think even making them just take reduced range damage, and having them take full Melee damage would be a decent band-aid fix until you can figure out a better alternative.

Also. Please let players choose a different starting weapon for a run instead of the Pistol. Because the starting Pistol is kind of beans.

For a game made by one guy, shout out to Nikita, this game is absolutely SICK. I hope and pray that we see the rest of this game fleshed out as what we have now in this first level is amazing.

The Music, level Design/environmental design, combat, and overall style of this game is great.
It's also crazy to me that there is more build options in this game than even some AAA titles.
I played around with Ice, Fire, Poison, and "Temp" HP builds.

But as a Disclaimer to those who are looking to buy/play this game.
Know that it's basically just the first zone that is fully fleshed out at this time. Although the first zone is a solid 10/10 at base difficulty It was only roughly about 4 hours of game time for me. That being said you can raise the mob density and difficulty for "Subsequent" playthroughs of the first zone as well as to challenge yourself if you wanted to do that. There is a second zone but you can clearly tell, especially compared to the first zone, that the second is still a work in progress.

Currently beyond the tutorial there is 4? bosses? And one Gauntlet styled boss fight (Which was hell and took me like 40 mins to beat)
Even with that in mind I can still recommend buying/playing what is currently available. Especially if you are a doom/souls fan.

TL;DR. The game is okay, and really just does need more time to cook. But It's free so try it out and form your own opinion. The game is small and takes little time to download.

Full Review.
This is a game that I wish I could give a "Neutral" review on. It's a game I enjoy, and could recommend one trying as it is free, but there are several issues with this game that I would love to see changed/fixed that really weigh the game down.

Let me start by saying that there are a lot of reviews that this game that just seem emotional. People complaining about things that are either a misunderstanding, or a straight skill issue. So I'd like to address some of those.

Response to Other reviews:
Spawn Camping.
I have yet to have one game where I was truly trapped in spawn. A lot of maps have multiple ways to exit your main spawn that you can use to sneak around to other capture points. On top of the fact that it is physically impossible for someone to kill you when you spawn as there is spawn protection in place so long as you don't shoot your gun.

Lack of Game Modes/Maps.
There are currently 6 maps, and 2 game modes in this game. Which I can agree is lacking. But you are kind of asking a lot for a free to play shooter that is ran by a handful of people if you are expecting the level of game modes/maps that larger shooters have. Especially when this game is not even technically out yet. I also do not load into a map and find myself saying "Oh god not this map again" they are all pretty solid.

Weapon Balance.
I do not understand people complaining about weapon balance? Generally speaking, all of the guns feel basically the same to me so far as far as TTK. So pick your poison.

Sprint Cancelling Reload.
Okay so stop doing that? Make sure you clip is in, THEN start sprinting so you don't get yourself killed silly billy.
ADAPT GAMER ADAPT. This happened to me once and I went "Oh Okay" and never did it again.

My issues:
A lot of these are QoL changes I'd like to see, or just minor issues I currently have with the game.

- Menu Navigation.
Navigating the Menu is pretty clunky when it comes to going back and forth between attachments and other several other places. You'd expect to be able to just press "Esc" to go back in a menu but you cannot.

- Unlocking Weapons.
In my opinion it takes way too long to unlock some of the later weapons in the game without spending money. In this game you can unlock everything for free, but for like... 1$? You can unlocked a "Boost" of sort that gives you extra cash/xp for 24 hours. This being said, I understand that this is likely how they plan on generating revenue from this game.

- No Grenade Indicator.
This seems very odd? While on one hand I can understand why this is not a thing for visual clarity sake, It would be nice to have some sort of indicator other than having to use my eyeballs because holy HELL sometimes grenades can legit just sneak up on you which feels bad.

- Training Ground/Shooting Range
This game could use a shooting range of sorts to test guns before you buy them as well as a way to see gun stats before purchasing them. Same with testing attachments out.

- Gun Variety.
There is a lack of gun variety in this game, which is understandable, but still sucks. There are no shotguns, only 1 sniper that is... kind of bad? 2 Marksman Rifles, 2 SMGs, then the rest of the guns are Assault Rifles.

- Attachment Variety.
I would like to see more attachments added to the game to try and make builds/fun load outs with. At this point in time every gun p much has the same exact attachments that all do the same thing with there being 3-4 of them that you are always going to use.

- Jumping.
Jumping in this game feels SUPER clunky and could really use a polish.

- Server customization.
It would be AMAZING and a BOON if we could customize more options when it comes to hosting a sever. As it stands now you can pretty much only change the map/game mode and that's it. I would love to see options for Spawn Times, Map rotation, Objective Control, etc.

- Cheaters.
Obviously with this being a free to play game there is going to be cheaters. However, I have only ran into 1 or 2 blatant cheaters in around 17 hours. This is also not really the fault of the game devs either. You can only do so much.

- Gun Flash.
I NEED to have a way to turn this down because holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ it is blinding in most cases if there is enough of it around you.

My Praises.

- Gunplay/Gameplay.
I was shocked at how responsive/good it felt to shoot the weapons in this game at first. On top of the fact that character movement is relatively fast It can feel great to go on a killing spree. The Time to Kill in this game feels great. Most guns kill in 3-4 shots, or 2-3 with head shots mixed in so if you can place your shots you can be a true menace. The game modes are pretty generic with one being Domination, and the other being King of the hill, but the pacing of them is good.

- Map Design.
While some of the maps in this game are mostly just rips of maps from already existing games. They are still great and I do not have an issue with a single one. Granted there are only 6 of them. There is Night/Day variations of every map and there is even one map that has a Sandstorm that goes through which heavily obscures vision which is great.

- Sound.
I see some people complain about this, and I could get why. For me I have a pretty Neutral, but mostly positive feeling when it comes to game Audio.

While some of the guns sound... questionable, you are able to very quickly tell which gun is being shot based on the sound they are making which is EXTREMELY important. Do they sound good? Not really, but I am easily able to determine what type of weapon is being fired.

Directional sounds are also pretty good in this game. I have never once been confused on where shots were coming from if I was close enough to the source.

- Developer Updates.
From what I can tell this game receives regular game-play/balance updates from the developers as well as News updates. It, from what I can see, has not been abandoned and stuck in EA hell. There is a clear direction and plans for updates which is nice.

I think that is it from me. Overall I enjoy this game and will probably be playing it a bit longer. But I'd say 15+ hours from a free to play game is extremely fair. I cannot wait to see where this game goes in the future.

I was not very optimistic going into this game because of the Negative reviews I was reading, however after playing the game for myself I can say without a doubt most of the negative reviews for this game are either unfounded or just super nit picky.

Character Customization:
One complaint I saw a lot was the the default character customization is not good. This cannot be further from the truth.
There are a decent number of hair options, colors, and you can have even have two different hair colors at the same time. There is an INSANE amount of starting clothes in this game that you can mix and match. Most other games you have whatever they start you with and that's it. Additionally, you can change your default appearance for free super early into the game by crafting yourself a wardrobe.

Micro-transactions:
Another common complaint i saw was that the micro-transactions were "Outrageously Priced". From what I can tell there are different tiers of cosmetics and their prices vary ranging anywhere from 8$, to 25$. The price difference of course being determined by the "Quality" and "depth" to the outfits in question. I will also stress that all Micro-transactions are purely cosmetic and do not benefit you in game in any way. Additionally each outfit you buy comes with THREE different color options which is unheard of in most games. Usually in games if you buy and outfit, or a skin, and you want it to be a different color then you have to also buy the colors. You can also preview what things look like before you buy them, as well as their colors. Also, the game is free to play and they have got to make their money somehow.

Lag and Bugs:
So far the only issues i've had with this game is that if you "Rush" out of a NPC menu sometimes it will lock you into the menu and you have to reboot the game to unstuck yourself. Past that i've ran into 0 issues. No lag, no other bugs that I've noticed. Just make sure when you are done talking with an NPC you use your mouse to close out of the windows instead of spamming ESC and you should be fine.

Graphics:
I don't know how anyone would have an issue with the graphics in this game as they are very cozy and stylized. It's like saying Stardew Valley's graphics are bad, which is a dumb take.

Beyond this, other complaints I saw about this game seem super specific to the individual, or are no longer applicable. For example one user commented that you are unable to hide the chat, but you can 100% do this.

TL;DR
Forget about these reviews
Play the game for yourself, it's free. It's a less stressful 3D Stardew Valley with a little bit of Genshin thrown in.

This game was not as casual of an experience I was hoping for, and certain things are not explained very well.

I just finished my first "Week" and failed to beat the first competition which I didn't think was going to be a big deal... But it turns out if you lose the first competition you kind of have to start the whole game over from what i can tell?

Firstly.
I was under the impression based on how it was presented to me that I just needed 1 of the 3 potions for the first competition, and I was wrong. You need 3 different potions and this was not explained, or at least i don't remember it being explained. I tried loading back recent saves and it didn't matter and there is 0 chance in hell i'm starting the whole game over from day 1.

Second.
Ingredients seem... random? By the 10th day I had no good ingredients for making health Potions, or the fire resist potions even though I was sending Mint out every day, investing in new ingredients and stocking up on what I could.
Additionally, I was unable to upgrade my Cauldron or Shelves really because I didn't receive any of the ingredients for said upgrades which felt terrible.

I wish I could give a neutral review, I really do. But I can't. I'm going to recommend this game for the sheer fact that I had fun while playing it for the short duration that I did. The characters are charming, the music is relaxing, and I love the art for this game. Even though I'm currently frustrated I might play the game again later with a different mindset but I was really hoping to just kind of turn my brain off with this game.

TL:DR the game is bad, and you should go play Robotquest, Ravenswatch, or hell even Gunfire Reborn if you are looking for a new roguelike to play.

I don't normally write reviews, but this game made me so disappointed that i had to. I returned this game after only an hour and that was with me playing the game with a friend.

Let me start off by saying this game, even without the bugs, would not be good. The only "saving grace" this game has is it's theme. Beyond that though it falls flat in almost every regard in terms of a roguelike. I tried REALLY hard to like this game but I couldn't.

Combat: A horrible mess.
The combat and movement is extremely clunky, slow, and due to what i assume are bugs? There was many times where I'd attack an enemy and the attack would just do nothing. Literally had arrows passing through enemies and hitting the enemies behind them. Melee attacks whiffing at point blank range, etc.

Additionally, the enemy AI in this game is terrible. They will walk into walls, and sometimes just straight stand there looking at you and do nothing. Had one enemy once that just start spinning in place.

Enemy variation was also lacking. Granted i played for only an hour before returning it? I only saw two enemy types the entire time i played. Which essentially were just dudes who walked at you or threw stuff at you.

When the Enemies do act proper things can get rather frustrating. There are certain enemies that will knock you down if they hit you. The problem with this is, the time that it takes to stand back up? It has already hit you with another attack that knocks you back down.

Level Design: Repetitive.
The level design in this game is extremely repetitive even for a roguelike. In an hour of playtime I saw the same exact level designs repeated multiple times. Even in separate chapters.

Perks and Leveling: No meaningful choices.
The perks in this game are so uninspiring and bland. For an example your standard perk options are something along the lines of: "Deal 20 more damage" "Your weapon now does Ice damage" "Heal for 1hp when defeating an enemy" Not once did I run into any perks that I thought were engaging or build defining like other games in this genre. Nor did i find any perks that seemed to synergize that well. When I did find something that was remotely interesting it was so underwhelming that simply attacking normally was more efficient.

Characters: Lacking.
This is one area that I thought was going to be this games saving grace but I was wrong. I thought this game was going to be filled to the brim with character quips, and interactions that would be funny. But they were sadly silent for the most part. To me this is the biggest pain point for me in this game as it was the thing that sort of drew me in.

If you liked Deadspace 1 but wished it had:
A better overall story, fixing plotholes and dropping hints towards dead space 2s story.
Better Graphics.
A Talking Isaac that made him feel like an actual character instead of him just constantly being told how to do HIS OWN ENGINEERING JOB.
A Better weapon and suit upgrade system
Better gun secondary fires
Zero G from Dead Space 2
And it reworked all the SUPER annoying parts like the Asteroid defense system?

Then you will like this game.

This might be a remake? But there was clearly a lot of thought put into it, It's not just a cheap remake. It's actually really well done.

There were so many cool details added to this game that made playing it a blast for people like me who REALLY enjoyed the first one. Were there a few things that bothered me?
Sure. (RIP Shooting Gallery Mini Game you will be missed.)

But overall the remake is great.

Now, Is it worth 60$?
Well let me put it to you this way.
The 2008 version is STILL 20$, so really? You are only spending 40$ more than you would be if you bought the original. On top of that, for the PC? The Original game is a bug riddled mess that requires some setup which can be a headache for some people.
If those 40$ to you are not worth all of what I said above? Then buy the original, you will still have a grand time.
